A tiger that deserves some recognition

Jan 24, 2010, 8:21 PM

As one of his more vocal critics early, I want to take some bandwith to recognize the job Milton Jennings is starting to do. I know last night was not a very pretty night to be a tiger and I also know that Milton Jennings did not light up the scoreboard. With that said, however, I loved the tenacity and physicality Milton showed on the defensive end and even on the offensive end to some extent. For the first time it looked like he started being aggressive on defense and forcing his opponent into mistakes or into giving up the ball. Rarely did he just concede position and an easy bucket. I would love to see that aggression translate into some shots and some buckets and I believe it is coming sooner rather than later. Once he gains a little confidence on the offensive end I think he is capable of making big shots and proving a very difficult matchup with his height and shooting skills. I believe over the next 2 weeks we will see Milton start to become the basketball player we all know he is capable of becoming.

He should get better and better. I saw one of the dook players bump him to the floor. Should have been a foul. The boy got agressive after that.

I think OP just threw their arskes in the fire and I am lovin' it!

If we are going to improve , he and Johnson have to pick it

I, too, didn't think he looked worthy of a 5 star ranking,

but he's showing signs of promise. I had the wrong idea of what a 5 star ranking meant in bball. I thought it meant he'd already be ready to be a big difference maker.

He's got a huge upside and should be really, really good in 2 years.

I'll believe it when I see it...

Jennings has potential, but lacks confidence.

When Stitt and Oglesby were freshmen, they were making an immediate impact. Johnson and Jennings need to realize that if they don't play with confidence, they'll be averaging 4 points per game for the next 3 years.

This isn't Upward basketball. Hasn't done anything yet. Doesn't deserve to be blasted but doesn't deserve recognition either

I agree, he made some key rebounds on the defensive end

during the run we made midway through the second half.
