Prayer Request... Please

Feb 14, 2007, 2:53 PM

Guys, Tigernet is like a online family to me.. ive been posting on here since highschool under another name and then got this one in college. Im not afraid to say that i have a depression and anxiety disorder, well something happened monday night that almost ended my life. Now im at a crossroads, do i withdraw from clemson with a medical withdrawel, and transfer closer to my family which my help? i grew up to come here and i want to get my degree, but i want to do whats healthy for me also. Please pray for me as i make this decision....

and if u have ever doubted there is no god, i can verify that there are modern day miracles.. Thanks in advance Tnet

GO TIGERS!!

Whatever you decide

My first suggestion from someone who has dealt with both sides of this issue is to have a support structure in place. Have it made up of folks you trust implicitly. Folks who can and will look you in the eye and tell you that you aren't behaving rationally. Folks that you will believe if they do so.

If you don't have that structure in place at Clemson (and are unsure if you can build it) then you do need to be around family.

I'll keep you in my prayers, and know that I mean it when I say if you need anything I am available.

I will for you. If you need to, seek counseling. I did and after a few times I realized it was all i needed. There will be some horrible days when dealing with anxiety issues, but just keep in mind the best is yet to come for you. Stay in school.

You got it!

having worked with folks in similar straits, the only advice I could offer is:

If you have support in place at Clemson and not at home, stay put.

If you have support at home and not at Clemson, take the break.

The trouble really starts when you need someone to help, and there's no one there.

Clemson will still be here, and you will still be able to get a degree. But only you can answer if it's the place you need to be at this point in your life.

We'll keep you on the list!

Done! Your health is priority one and Clemson will go

Feb 14, 2007, 3:25 PM

nowhere. They will leave the light on for ya once you get your health back. Is it something Clemson might be able to help with? I have no idea but may be an alternative for you.

Will Do....

Feb 14, 2007, 4:00 PM

My advice is to first and foremost take care of your health. If being closer to your family will help your conditions, then by all means do not wait another day. Clemson will still be here in the future and you can go back later to get another degree or maybe even in a year or two. While I can definitely relate to the strong desire to get a Clemson diploma, your blood obviously runs orange and that is all you need to be a TIGER!!! Best of luck and I'll keep you in my prayers!!
