I just can't believe what I am reading. Obviously, Tigernet and the boards on here have been overrun by imposters that claim to be Clemson fans. I had to join to try and take this board back for Clemson, because I know real Tigers would not be whining like a bunch of baby's on here.
A little reality check here, Danny Ford, who won the NC for Clemson, Went 8-4 in season 1, 6-5 in season 2. Hell, even after the 12-0 year and NC, he threw in a few "terrible, embarrassing, get your @$$ out of here 7-4, 6-6 and 8-2-2 seasons.
Grow up everybody. Number 1, its a game, number 2, the guy hasn't even had a chance yet. And if it is killing you that much to be in this TERRIBLE programs stadium..... don't come back! I would love to be able to improve my seating!!!
And before anyone asks, and not that it matters to be a fan, yes - graduated.... twice, and currently with 2 kids attending. Relax, it's a great place, a great school, and a great program.

So in order to be a real fan I have to shoot the coach after a few bad games? The one that took us to the ACC championship game last year? Maybe I'm not then. Certainly not by that definition or requirement, anyway.

we went to the title game last year, true.
In a weak division and with one of the if not the best playmaker we've ever had.
Tommy could have done that, hell you and I might have been able to do that.
Dabo is 15-11 now, 11-11 against non-creampuffs. I appreciate that you like the guy, it's almost impossible not to, but that record is NOT getting it done. Period.

No, Dabo has taken Clemson to a place that Tommy never could and never did with the vast majority of the same players -- including Spiller.
Tommy WASTED Spiller's talent when he had him!

Please stop comparing Dabo and Danny. It isn't fair or even remotely close. It may be "just a game" but it's his job. He gets paid a boatload of cash to win, run a clean program, represent the university well, and graduate players. But, winning trumps all others---see Tommy Bowden.
He's getting his chance, and isn't holding up well. When he took over, Dabo mentioned the program only needed an "oil change" not an overhaul. Sadly, it appears that we're just pumping the bad oil that we drained out. Check his record versus ranked opponents (awful) and his overall record versus conference opponents and non 1-AA opponents.
You're right, Clemson is a great place and school. However, the football program hasn't been great in nearly two decades.

Those 3 seasons you mentioned (7-4, 6-6 and 8-2-2) were not because of Ford's coaching. The 3 years before those 3 we were 12-0, 9-1-1, & 9-1-1, and the 3 seasons after those 3 bad years we were 10-2, 10-2, 10-2.
So ask yourself, how can you have 3 bad years sandwiched between 6 great years?
Simple. Probation!!!
The 7-4 year was that 3rd BS year of probation given to us by the ACC. The next two years we were also hurt by the hit to recruiting thanks to lost scholarships, NO TV, & NO bowl games.
Ford quickly rebounded & rebuilt and we were better than ever his last 3 years. Even that hack Hatfield went 10-2 his 1st year, which was a transition year, with all the talent Ford left
Had Ford been head coach in '90 we would of made a serious NC run!

if that same scenario happened right now...NC, three yrs probation and then some really avg. seasons (even if probation talent was the cause)...we would want the coach gone.

I was in school when Danny boy was coach and he is a black mark on our school. I love to win, but cheating is not the way to do it. I think Dumbo runs a clean program which makes me proud, but he is not up to the job. I've maintained this position since he was hired. Look at him on the sidelines, "deer in headlights".
