Jul 27, 2010, 10:51 AM

For those who haven't heard, David Beasley finally got cleared by the NCAA and will arrive in Clemson this coming Sunday.

Hopefully he can work his way onto the 2-deep in the next month.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Personally, I hope he red-shirts

Jul 27, 2010, 11:23 AM

Working his way into the 2-deep that quickly would be indicative of problems IMHO.

If we have a true freshman OL who comes in at this point and wins significant snaps over one of our established guys, then OL may not be a strength in 2010.

Kalon is probably more likely to make the 2 deep

Jul 27, 2010, 11:28 AM

having been on campus for spring and summer workouts, imo.

Agreed***

Plus, he's an enormous human being. Physically, he looks

Jul 27, 2010, 12:16 PM [ in reply to Kalon is probably more likely to make the 2 deep ]

like he's bigger and stronger than most of our other linemen.

Agree, he's HUGE.

Jul 27, 2010, 12:19 PM

He looks like a bull when he gets down in that three point stance.

You know who is really a monster, though? Allen Bailey, the DE from Miami. You look at that guy and can only say "Wow."

sure agree... iof our O/L is that bad that a true frosh can come in and make the 2-deep then we are in deep dodo!!I know Davis might already be in 2-deep but @ least he has spring practice under his belt

We have 10 OL listed as such on the Scout.com website. Two of these guys are walk-ons. One is Wilson Norris who is out until mid-season with a knee. Who knows if Cloy will be ready for the start of the season? Based on sheer numbers I am guessing at least 2 of our true freshmen will be on the 2-deep by the first game.

Mason will be ready for the start of fall practice.

Jul 27, 2010, 12:15 PM

He just got back from ROTC training this summer. He will be healthy and in shape.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You might be right, but I hope that if they are listed on

Jul 27, 2010, 12:31 PM [ in reply to Re: Personally, I hope he red-shirts ]

the 2-deep, we still don't have to burn their RS.

I believe that barring injury, we will get through the season nicely with the group of guys (counting Cloy) that have the experience.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

isn't Norris one of the ones that is said to maybe be

Jul 27, 2010, 5:22 PM [ in reply to Re: Personally, I hope he red-shirts ]

leaving the team?

and there was 1 more mentioned.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Norris? Chuck Norris?
Chuck Norris is awesome. Chuck Norris is unstoppable. Chuck Norris killed two stones with one bird.

Sorry guys... feeling a little silly tonight.

Not a grandpa yet, but I do have a married daughter. Could happen at any time. Well, not that I know the specifics of that situation. Just sayin'.

You mean "coming back" to Clemson

Jul 27, 2010, 2:36 PM [ in reply to Re: David Beasley ]

David Beasley the governor already spent some time on campus. If I recall correctly he was even on the baseball team...hopefully his eligibility isn't all used up ;)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah, but he STILL runs a 4.2 forty!***
