Potter's had a nice season overall,and has really progressed

from his freshman year until now. If we're going to make a postseason run, his ability to hit outside shots and play strong defense will be key.

He is our second best perimeter defender (behind only Stitt)

That is the main reason why he starts and plays the minutes he does. The fact that he can guard several positions, due to his length and athleticism, is a wonderful luxury Purnell has. When Potter is hitting his shots, that is an added bonus.

It amazes me how many of our fans rip Purnell for playing Potter, as if he would leave a guy out there if someone else on the team were better. Purnell realizes that Potter can make mistakes on offense, and he can live with that at times because Potter plays such good defense.
