Bigger disappointment: Harper or Proctor?

Jan 14, 2009, 5:06 PM

I'd say Harper, since last year he was the bomb, and this year he bombed.

The condom your dad was wearing.

Jan 14, 2009, 5:08 PM

is that an option?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Depends how comfortable you feel about discussing my

Jan 14, 2009, 5:13 PM

dad's junk.

Some might find that signs of latent homosexuality.

Are you really Otis' man?

harper by far, who in their right mind thought proctor......

Jan 14, 2009, 5:09 PM

was gonna be productive.......seriously I can't get over the fans that sit around me sayin' "put in Proctor" when charlie was having an "off" game.........it was LAUGHABLE.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

i dont think he was the bomb last year, if you look back

Jan 14, 2009, 5:09 PM

he had the same problems of taking sacks and such. Against good competition he has never been able to take over a game and put it on his shoulders. Last year statistically he was better cause he didnt force as many interceptions, but if you look at the other things like mechanics, route progressions, and pocket presence he had the same issues.

I pointed this out to friends in the preseason and they

thought I was crazy, unfortunately I wasnt.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did he put it on his shoulders in the last drive of the USC

game? Or did Kelly Just Abuse #7? I say both. Cullen made some good throws on that drive.

Clemson football isn't fancy. Clemson football is having a good kicking game, winning with the kicking game, hit you on defense, don't turn the ball over and be able to control the ball.
-Danny Ford

I said quality competition and you use the coots

Jan 14, 2009, 5:15 PM

as an example, lol j/k. Dont get me wrong he made some great throws both this yr and last, but like our team he wasnt consistent it was just flashes. I think alot of that drive was AK though considering he got open and caught every ball. Also, earlier in the game if he doesnt throw a pick in the endzone we get a fg and it doesnt come down to that drive

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

i didnt think he was so great last year either

Jan 14, 2009, 5:21 PM [ in reply to i dont think he was the bomb last year, if you look back ]

yes. he had a great completion percentage. its much harder to miss your targets when they were no more that 5 yards away.

he also had good passing yardage numbers. but look back and see how maby of those yards were the reciever making the play.... it was mostly screens and short passes with the talented player on the recieving end making it into something big with huge yards after catch numbers.

after teams watched enough tape of him and realized his inability to air it out, they concentrated on stopping the short pass and the run, and thus effectively shut us down.

i hope he payed attention in his classs, cause i really dont see a future for harper in the NFL

HARPER by far!

Jan 14, 2009, 5:36 PM

Harper was the pre-season choice for ACC player of the year. He had a great 2007 and was high on all the "experts" draft boards before the season.

Proctor was nothing more than Charlie's back up and played well when Whitehurst was hurt. However, he didn't have 1 year of starting experience under his belt or great pre-season accolades coming into his senior season.

probably the ACC preseason player of the year.***

Harper by far. Preseason talk of NFL higher rounds now....

Jan 14, 2009, 7:16 PM

he'll be lucky to get drafted at all. I'd say thats the ultimate bust.
