by blaming their antics on their environment: James Davis came from the same or worse environmental than Boyd, yet I don't see him on national TV saying "i'm back like cooked crack", or suspended for a year becuse of drug use, or dancing in the end zone and mugging for the camera like Boyd. Face it USC fans, a LOT of your football players are thugs coddled by your imperial coach and an embarrasment to your university. That is if merely BEING USC isn't embarrasment enough. Now I'm going to check the crime blotter to see who your next misunderstood miscreant is. Bunch of #### losers!

Has Cory Boyd made mistakes in his life? Most definitely.
Was saying, "I'm Back liked cooked crack" dumb? Certainly. Does it make him a bad person? Certainly not.
Just amazes me how you guys are so quickly to condem a kid merely because he plays for USC.
P.S. I'd love to see an article detailing how James Davis comes from a worse environment than Boyd.

there are a TON of kids growing up in horrible conditions that 99% of the people on this board have no idea how bad... reading the article on Boyd makes you want to pull for him to be successful but seeing the Ray Ray's and JD's of the world makes you also realize that you don't have to act like a thug who goes around allegedly toting guns, slashing tires, drugs, etc. If a kid has no preconceived notions about either USC or CU.... there is a reason a kid chooses to go to a Columbia over a Clemson and vice versa if he has those two options. Cory Boyd is probably in the place he needs to be and Ray Ray and JD are probably in the place they need to be; hopefully they can all contribute to society down the road in areas outside of football.

where you come from, that is it. Its balck and white, right and wrong, this county is way to grey on most things. Now should he be an outcast of the country if he never commits another crime, heck no. In my opinion, as long as he stays clean from this day on, then I will never have a problem with him, but if he does something else stupid then he should be JUDGED(that is for you don't judge people) harded in the public eye then someone who has never done anything before. That is life.

coach's "4 strike rule". It sucks when a clemson fan knows more about your program than you do. and yes, Boyd WAS suspended for faing drug tests. He IS a thug and your school is a half way house.

All of us make mistakes to some degree. I don't believe character is defined by the mistakes you make or what you say, but by how you respond to them and the actions you take to make yourself a better person.
This is actually a lesson I've learned in a very hard way recently and I'm battling to overcome some things and make myself a better person. My mistakes weren't criminal, but they cost me alot.

My parents had me when they were 17 Had no car when the got married, both walked to work, both worked 2 jobs to stay a float. I have to admit they had it pretty hard, does that make me more of a man than some one whose parents had money when they were born? NO? Then how is he more of a man because he can play football got a scholorship and then should have lost that a long time ago for his actions? because he now says "I aint going to get in any more trouble"? Are you kidding me. No of us can control how we came into this world, but we can control how we live in it!
