Tommy Bowden at our church…

Mar 26, 2006, 7:47 PM

I just want you to know how blessed you are to have a coach with such a strong faith in Jesus Christ. I am a diehard Gamecock and I will be until the day I die, but my faith in Christ and the advancement of His Kingdom bears much more importance in my life. (It’s funny in a way I am closer to Coach Bowden than some of family because we are brothers in Christ and I have family that are blood relatives but we are not connected by the bond of the eternal Holy Spirit.)

I got to hear Coach Bowden at our church today and he did an outstanding job. He must have spouted out at least a dozen verses from memory and spoke clearly of his faith in Christ, his personal convictions, and his love for his family.

The Tiger nation should be proud of Coach Bowden and his uncompromising love of Jesus Christ.

Good grief, that was uncalled for in light of his post.

If you mean I have picked on Clemson before on FGF, then you are correct. Of course I have. It was always in fun and I never made anything personal.

If you remember something that was personal or was out of bounds, I would love to know so I can repent. I never want my interest in the Gamecocks to hurt the cause of Christ.

Sounds like you already have, Chief

Thanks man.

I think most of us realize how lucky we are to have him as the face of our program. I think God has really blessed this university by putting him here. He's a great man.

Thanks very much for the kind words about our coach. I probably could use some of that sermon since I've quit going to church regularly.

I am more proud of TB for his witness than for anything that he will ever accomplish in Death Valley. You are right; we are very lucky to have him as our head coach.

heads up the other day. We both enjoyed hearing him and on an additional note, many people made it a point to speak to us and just say hi. We were made to feel very welcome among you and your fellow church members. I won't repeat what the young blonde hair guy said about his black suit but that was great. He's a fiery guy. I liked him. Great experience. After hearing Bowden speak I feel extremely confident with him leading the young men that play ball for CU. He really had those Bible verses down didn't he. I was impressed. Thanks again for the heads up.
