Last night was not fun to watch, but now is when this

team needs to respond in a positive manner. Long layoff, looked rusty and out of sorts, effort was lacking after getting behind very early. IMO Virginia played A+ game last night, shot well, defended well, took care of the ball, and effort was strong. Clemson simply didn’t match it, shot poorly, offense looked anemic, defense was slow in reacting to ball movement. All around a perfect storm of a team playing very well, and the other team playing poorly. I think/hope this was just one of those games where team gets way behind and simply can’t do anything to mount a challenge. Learn from it and move forward!!
Now is where we find out just how good this basketball team is. Leadership needs to show up and lead this team in right direction or a loss like last night can change the entire season. The next couple of games are important to right the ship and at least play competitive basketball. Go Tigers!!

Good points. Better than the negative nancy's and whiners that have been on here lately.

Negative Nancy here; it was fun to watch if you are a Virginia fan!

I was surprised. I thought they would be fired up and ready to go. If they were it did not show. Could not recognize the D we played as Clemson. And the few times we contested a shot they still hit it. Especially disappointing to see us do that at home

Anyone know why Newman3 played just 9.5 mins? I think he was 3 of 5 from the field. Wasn't able to watch due to family event.

I was there and wondered same thing. His bench seat was three rows deep in a corner. He looked a little disengaged. He is my favorite player.

From my perspective, Newman has regressed quite a bit since last year. It seems he is not satisfied to be a team member and take the chances as they come to him. Virtually every single time he touches the ball this year, he *will* be shooting it, no matter what is going on around him and no matter how bad of a shot results from his ball-hog act.
I say that even after last year where Newman was a household favorite and knowing that we won several games on his play. He's just not that player anymore.
