Had the highest GPA in the history of the program. A lot of great things as they look back on it. But they are off to a better start this decade than back in 2010. But it's never about the destination. Always about the journey.

Swinney documents the on-the-field staff changes. Have had the most support staff turnover that they've had in quite a while. Excited about the opportunity to go to the depth chart for some guys he will give an opportunity. Says Danny Pearman's move is the right timing for the present and the future of where college football is. Says Pearman is a great evaluator and has a great mind for the game.

Thomas Austin is also back and will work with the OL. He has been the OL coach the last four years at Georgia St. The guess is that he is next in line to coach that group if and when Robbie Caldwell retires.

DE Justin Foster graduated in December is ready to move on and won't be with the team. He has some special career opportunities he wants to get started on. Swinney tried to talk him out of it but he had a hard time recovering from COVID

Swinney says it is a blessing to have six six-year guys on the roster. "Pretty cool" to have those guys. There is Pro Day coming up in a few weeks and there are no defensive guys. There are only four offensive guys. Jackson Carman, Travis Etienne, Amari Rodgers, and Cornell Powell will participate

Swinney says Clemson isn't a team that needs the transfer portal, and while Clemson hasn't changed the rules have changed and they will use it if necessary and make sure they are prepared if they have gaps in their roster. Every May and every January it will happen.

Swinney said there is a good roster. Nothing keeps him up at night. From a roster standpoint, he looks at the youth on the OL. 16 players, 13 frosh and sophomores. One senior and two juniors. They have to get those guys grown up.

Swinney says the Tigers never could get the momentum against Ohio St. He said they learned they have to do the little things right. They didn't do the basics. Did a really poor job across the board and Ohio St was just better that night. The good news is Clemson knows they were better than that, just not that day.
