What I said in 1992

When USC joined the SEC in 92 I said they will always be a OLe Miss/Miss.State type program in that league year in and year out. They won't be a Vanderbilt but they will never be an Alabama-Florida-LSU type either. Most years they will be average to mediocre. They will occasionally have a year that is challenging the top but they will NEVER win that conference ! This is no matter who their coach is ! So they can brag about being in the SEC but if you never win it what's the point ? They BELONG in the ACC.

Why not the Sun Belt conference? Are you saying the ACC is on par to teams like Ole Miss/Miss St? Not sure why you think the ACC would even take them.

That is where they have natural rivalries. Also year in and year out I'm not saying they would win the ACC by any means but I am saying that most years they could at least compete in football. You can call me a coot if you like ( I am NOT !! ) but to say that the ACC in football compares with the SEC is just ignoring reality.

Didn't say that the ACC compares to SEC

#1 - I think their "rivalries" are The Citadel & App St. #2 - Who cares if they "compete in football"? I'd have NO problem if they did away with football completely.

Wrong. The Metro conference should've become a football

conference in 1991 when they expanded. SC belonged in it with their basketball school for 8 years.
Cincinnati Louisville Memphis Tulane FSU Virginia Tech Southern Miss UofSC Charlotte USF
FSU and VT would've kept it from becoming a mid major.

They don't belong in the ACC

They may never win the SEC, but that doesn't mean they're ACC material or that they'd be a good fit, because they're not.

What I remember is listening to you cooters claiming that you were suddenly “elite” just because SEC.
They wouldn’t win in the ACC either, silly coot. Hell, they wouldn’t win the Southern. Or SunBelt.
