Roger Goodell moving on

The NFL is a powerhouse, and it didn't happen overnight. There aren't very many factors that could threaten their sustainability. The worst thing I could see happening is a new commissioner coming in and trying to fix things that aren't broken.
Although, if Goodell continues to try to make the league into an international attraction, the product could suffer, but I don't see it.

The biggest threat is safety

In 30 years it is going to impossible for public schools to have football teams.
Once you lose the breeding ground of your product( the athletes) how do you sell that product ?

Exactly, this is the direction I am going in. Drug use can be tied into this idea as well.

NASCAR got ruined because they ruined the sport in the name of safety.

The lawsuit per concussions will be huge and to echo the above tooooooooooooo many commercials. A kickoff and then immediately go to a commercial. Have to say it! Give me the world's football, it never stops and I can watch a match in 2.5 hours.

Changes that had to be made so the NFL can attempt to cover it's #### for the imminent wave of lawsuits from former players with brain damage.
