Because I was too young to remember, I think it was Mike O'Cain but the first one I truly remembered was Steve Fuller. Man I loved Steve Fuller. Used to go out in the yard and pretend I was Steve Fuller. Throwing a pass to myself and then pretending I was Jerry Butler catching it.

Me too. I remember him but it seemed like I heard Peanut Martins name come across the loud speaker all the time, during that era. Note: I realize Peanut was not a QB.

I may have attended an earlier Clemson vs UofSC game with my father but I don't remember the qb.

Rick eventually became a rb. He was holder on FG's and never dropped one as I recall. Yet he was not good catching the ball out of the backfield. It was very strange

The original #4 - Steve Fuller. Though I also remember Billy Lott. Not sure who came first. Whichever one of those was first, was the first one I saw! I remember merchandise salesmen selling Tiger Rags out in the parking lot yelling "Wear your Tiger Rag in your belt like Billy Lott!" The odd things we remember after 40 years....

1976 Clemson and Duke played to a tie. Steve Fuller was the QB. I sat in the south stands on about the 35 yard line. Had the best time for my first Clemson game.

Mine was Steve Fuller in 77 vs UVA. We were on the SW corner hill. Won 31-0.

I'm originally from New York. Didn't grow up knowing much about Clemson other than seeing the paw on ESPN highlights sometimes. I was a senior in high school in 2009 and my sister had been at UGA for a few years. She had some friends from Georgia that went to Clemson, so I decided to check it out on a whim (I say it was the Spirit of God).
A few people I got connected to from a church in town when I visited gladly got me a ticket and took me along with them to the night game vs FSU. Kyle Parker was the QB - threw for 240 and 4 TDs. CJ Spiller was unbelievable. And a young Andre Ellington was electric.
This was the game where Deandre McDaniel pointed at and laid the boom on Christian Ponder after picking him off to seal the game. What a moment to be initiated! Never looked back after that. I decided very quickly that Clemson was the place I wanted to be at.

1993, so it Sapp or McLeon or someone better suited to play defense. Isn’t it amazing how it took just a couple years for the cupboard to go bare? Remember that during these glory days and national media trying to destroy Clemson recruiting and/or find a way to get Dabo run out of town.

Whitehurst's sophomore year

Season opener vs Georgia. Was my freshman year, had never been to a Clemson game before. Great crowd, great energy as the team ran down the hill - then that dang whistle blew. Wasn't a good day for Whitehurst & the team as a whole but 3 month later things were going a little bit better (especially on a brisk Nov night in Columbia).

I think it was Steve Fuller.
We were living in Alabama at the time and attended the 1975 Clemson-Alabama football game in Tuscaloosa. Clemson lost 56-0. I was 9 years old.
Otherwise, when I started attending games regularly, Rodney Williams was the QB. It was 1987.

I had been a fan for about 10 years before i made my first game in 1999. It was the UNC game and I'm pretty sure it was one of those games where Streeter got knocked out and Woody came in.

I remember that game well..... Julius Peppers was on that UNC squad and we handled them well. Robert Carswell got a late INT when they were driving towards the end. Victory formation to close it out. I remember that game well b/c we kneeled on the ball at our 10 yard line close to the hill. Streeter didn't get knocked out that game, it was later in the season. The only reason I remember that is b/c it was my first official play as a Clemson Tiger. I was a walk-on tight end and against TB's wishes, Brad Scott, the TEs coach, put me in the game and told me, "just don't jump offsides". Was the best day of my life b/c I had no business being on that team from an athletic stand point. I remember thinking Julius Peppers lined up against me on the strong side was going to murder me, but he just stood up and shook my hand when the clock expired. I didn't jump offsides.

Jim Parker and Joe Anderson split quarterback snaps: 1962? Howard said Clemson had the best two QBs on a team in the country.

Charlie Bussey, Big Thursday, 1955. I remember going to the game and to the fair. I really liked the fair. I don't recall much about the game but the record shows we lost.
Jimmy Addison was the QB for the second Clemson game I ever saw and we beat Maryland on Homecoming in 1967.

Deshaun Watson in a game in Tampa vs Bama....
Just kidding. It was 1995 on the hill as a freshman vs Western Carolina. Had Emory Smith and Raymond Preister in the backfield. That was the year we wore the throwback uniforms vs. UGA. I remember those uniforms everytime I walk into Tiger Town b/c they have a set in the case. Ended that year in the blowout loss to 'Cuse in the Gator Bowl vs Donavan McNabb.

We might have crossed paths, CK! Attended the Nov 1967 Textile Bowl to see Tigers beat NCST 14-6! I was in HS in Charlotte and drove down with a friend in his 1957 tail-finned, 318 V8, push buttoned torqueflite, Plymouth. Good times!
Friend’s father was a NCST engineer grad, WWII Vet, and the son also finished at NCST. My father was 1941 junior Clemson EE major but didn’t graduate because of WWII service. Made Coach Howard’s win all the sweeter!

I think it was wakebforest game in 02. Willie Simmons started the game but played poorly and the offense couldnt get anything going. They brought in Whitehurst at some point and started every game after that. We ended up winning that game but it was an ugly win

First game was 1977 against NC State, Steve Fuller was QB.
First QB as a student was Randy Anderson in 1985, replaced mid season by Rodney Williams.

1959 vs WF. Shingler. I think Harvey White played too. WF had Norm Snead who went on to a lengthy NFL career. Tigers won 33 - 31 with a TD in the last 2 minutes.

I remember Mike O’cain and Steve Fuller first but I cut articles from games in ‘73 & ‘74 when I was 6-7 years old.
Cool list I came across from 2012, I added Mike O’cain and Dexter McCleon ‘92.
Add in Cullen Harper, Deshaun Watson, Christian Wilkins, Kelly Bryant, Trevor Lawrence & Chase Brice.
Coming DJ Uiagalelei if I spelled correctly lol.

Steve Fuller -QB Clemson and Duke played you an 18-18 tie. Cincinnati’s Big Red Machine beat the Yankees. It was 1977. Sat in the South stands on about 30-35 yard line. A great start to really getting addicted to Clemson University and Clemson Tigers sports. Who knew 4 years later I would be in Miami for Clemson’s First National Championship. Wow how time really goes by fast.
Go Tigers! ????????????
