I agree it’s on both sides. She’s gotten calls and threats she should have never received. Who does that? MI just seems like a cauldron waiting to explode.

It's not on both sides. It's your side. The rest of the nation is just trying to move on and live. We just have to deal with ignorant Trumptard traitors trying to destroy the country and create a civil war. That's the reality in December 2020.

Because the looters and rioters don’t have the power to bring down an entire system of government. They are just a small group of pissed off anarchists and disaffected youth. They are no real threat to our Republic.

On the other hand, the organized and deliberate subversion of our democratic process in which the Republican Party is actively engaged amounts to sedition at best and quite possibly treason. I’m pretty much a centrist and vote for folks on both sides of the aisle, but after this I will never ever vote for a Republican again.

Small group committing $2 billion in damage and injuring and killing people? Yeah that’s no threat. Meanwhile, Republicans haven’t done anything outside of the Constitution. I see your point.

What specifically is outside of the Constitution? You do realize that Article 2 of the Constitution specifically gives the power of electing the President to the state legislatures right?

I haven't read the lawsuit but I'm guessing the argument is probably something about equal protection which is a federal and Constitutional issue.

Yes I get that but since it's a federal election, those states' actions impact Texas and its citizens. Again though, I haven't read the complaint.

Well, first, you have a bunch of idiot Trumpers who stormed the capital building to cry and whine about masks and try to look tough with AR-15s.

Then a bunch of right-wing idiots plotted to kidnap the governor.

Then I guess this clown thought the smart way to deal with idiot Trumpers is to act like an idiot Trumper.

And isn't bengaline there?

So I guess Michigan needs some help.

Also, Jim Harbaugh.

and destroyed everything in their path. There was no property damage, and the only thing hurt was some politicians feelings.

Truth be told, it was probably more mixed than you think. Last tally I saw, over 3000 small businesses had closed for good in Michigan. I think people who mock those upset about that should really do some soul searching. I can't lie, there will be some schadenfreude once these lockdowns start impacting other sectors of our economy, particularly those in which many of the lockdown advocates work.

Anyone who shows up to a state house with an AR slung on his back to scream at police who don't have a say in the matter because he thinks that's going to solve the problem, well, I'm going to mock that person.

That also doesn't go far in getting the other side to listen to your complaints.

Why don't they get the benefit of the doubt BLM protests got, anyway?

Benefit of what doubt?

Look, man, these people were idiots. I don't know why you're defending them, or the morons you mentioned the other day with the social media censorship. You're not on their level.

Maybe the other side isn't listening well, but they certainly don't listen when Bubba Donttreadonme shows up with an AR and screams at people. That person is a moron.

Anyway, can we just agree Michigan sucks and we're glad we don't live there?

and they've got legitimate grievances. I'm really not sure what else they were supposed to do, and I'm highly sympathetic to businesses that are being forced to go under. I work with a lot of people in Michigan, and they're mad. I also understand why they're mad, and it kind of irks me to see them reduced to just being whacko Trumpies.

Michigan does suck, and the one great thing about COVID is I have not had to visit Chicago or Detroit this year. Especially around now, when everything is just grey and really ######.

But that's also akin to lumping peaceful demonstrators back in May and June with the rioters and the looters (I'm not saying you did this; plenty of others did).

I understand their grievances, but for those who aren't whackjob Trumpers, they probably would have been better off leaving that crew and finding a new approach. Because those idiots drowned them out.

that I found interesting over the course of the riots. You could watch real time on the livestreams as the rioters infiltrated the protests. They'd start splintering off in groups to start fires, etc. It would go from a mass legit protests to pockets of 4-5 people causing chaos, all being directed from a shot caller at the back of the action. Before things kicked off, you'd often see those same shot callers giving out money to people. Of course, as the year went on they got wise to the live streamers exposing their gig, so they quit allowing them. Notice some of the signs at the Red House in Portland explicitly saying no streamers.

It's almost exactly what you saw in Kenosha with Rittenhouse, too. All of the people he shot were working in collaboration with each other. Same with that shooting in Denver. Pockets of 3-4 organized conspirators out there stirring #### up.

I personally think all of that was a lot better organized and funded than people want to believe.

It's kind of like legitimate nazis. They pretty much want the same system of government democratic socialists want, so it's fascinating to see them cast as being on different ends of the spectrum. Kind of seems like the only difference they have is who gets the political power.
