lightbulbbill had an earlier thread about sending your kids to two colleges, and who did they still favor. Since nearly 700 people had already viewed that post, I figured if I commented, nobody would see it...so here is my story:
I grew up a Tiger, and will always be a Tiger! When I went to the interviews for Wofford King Teen, Furman Scholar, Erskine Fellow and Carolina Scholar, I walked in and told them I was going to Clemson whether they gave me a scholarship to their school or not (dumb, wasn't I?).
I knew from the age of 12 that my parents would not be able to pay my way through college, so I worked as many jobs as I could find, saving my money to attend Clemson. When I finally went, the money ran out before the first year was up! I limped home and decided to stay at home my next year, worked as many as 70 hours a week during the summer (multiple jobs), and attended the local branch of the coots during my second year in college. When it came time to go back to Clemson, my wife-to-be decided she wanted to go to school to be a Reg. Nurse. Unfortunately, Clemson's 4 year nursing program was not accredited at that time, so we both went to cootland to get our degrees (it was Clemson or her, and she won, barely). Even while I stayed in the dorm, I still wore my Clemson gear! I got my BS in Science and Math from cootlumbia! We got married the last semester of our college careers.
So, I went to both schools! And if you want to know which school is better, ask someone that went to both, right? And there has never been any doubt that Clemson is far and away the better school, and everything else about college is better in those hills!!! Go Tigers!

Congrats on getting your degree and wife. Sounds like it took a lot of ambition or drive to work hard and pay your way - good job!
