I think the general consensus was that BV largely did it out of necessity last year because we didn't have a great DL and we weren't generating much pressure with 4 either.

For whatever its worth, uva has a very good offensive line. They have been playing together for a while. Last year, they stood our DLine up. BV may have decided to put the concentration on the 2 receivers who are 6'7".
It did seem like he could have put more pressure on the QB with more weak side blitzing.

Brent is playin mind games with offensive coordinators to give them something to prepare for on long passing downs.

We will blitz Miami every other play like we own their backfield. Their Offensive line isn’t able to contain TIGERS!(deroberts moment)

equation. Wasn't getting pressure with 4 straight-up anyway, and likewise having coverage problem on the RB coming out of backfield and TE releasing. Changed to 3 and I think was able to vary coverage/rush with extra player in the back 8.
