I've been lucky. All of my government cheese safely tucked away. We got the best raises I've seen as this company in the middle of all the uncertainty last June. I'd love to stimulate the economy by going out and buying a truck but my consumer confidence is too low to do so.

Make $150 (couple) you get full amount
Make $161 (couple) you get nothing
(based on current news out of the Senate)
If it is COVID relief (a) it shouldn't still be based on 2019 filing and (b) the cap should be lower.
If it is stimulus, then that tight of a phase-out window makes no sense.

but then that would be relief. And if that's the reason for another round of payments, then $150k for a family is too high...AND...how is basing it off of 2019 any indicator of anything?
What I don't understand is why not base it off of 2020 income? The gubmint already knows what every W-2 and independent worker made in 2020.

have the politician's ears alot better than the common man.
Also, what about a person making $80k in NYC, Seattle, or San Francisco. Yeah, $80k is nice in Columbia, SC or Mobile, AL but there are variations in cost of living to deal with here.

off that foreign aid. I imagine most comes back here in ways that help a select few rather than say, having healthcare be affordable for all.
As for folks in those cities, the cutoff may be too low but it would be a real good way to further divide if you tell somebody from unincorporated York Co that some SOB in NYC is getting more just for living there.
I don't have the answer to the fairness issue.
