Serious question. Why is fighting celebrated in hockey but we're appalled when there are fights in football?

Because hockey is totally boring to watch. A good fight makes it more interesting.

fights. And, I don't know that they celebrate it, but the officials do just step back for the most part, if it only involves two guys, and let them have at it, as long as they are swinging fists and not sticks. :)

I’ve always wondered why there is so much effort to stop a prison riot between gangs. Just let em go and pick up the bodies later. Solves prison overcrowding!
