Talking about airports...

I've been to a bunch of the major airports, but until last Thursday, had never been to Miami.

Is Miami the chittiest, nastiest airport for a large city, or is there possibly some worse?

I have been in Miami once and I was 16 but I distinctly

place down. It reminded me of downtown Columbia..SC. It was like the aviation equivalent of Two Notch Road.

And I was expecting the Koobans and Spanish...but whats with all the Russians?

Ohh...there's worse. Newark, NJ

Or 15 years ago it was way worse than Miami.

I think Newark was what I was thinking of

It was either there or Philadelphia where you had to be shuttled in a van out to the actual terminal. And it was really, really fuggin cold.

I've never flown into Newark.

2021 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg link

I guess Trump must have a plane in Newark because he says our airports are the suxor.

We flew into Newark a few weeks ago and it wasn't

but it's still mostly a ######## airport and what a lot of people base their opinions of NJ on...that whole area just kinda sucks

Their Marine Air Terminal is kind of a neat relic.

I think Vegas is really bad too, especially when you're hungover AF flying back on a Sunday.

Minny is the best I've been to

I just took a job in Minneapolis that's 50% travel. Moving up there from SC is gonna suck, but at least I get to fly out of an awesome airport.

Working at Epic, I constantly had layovers in MSP and DTW

I'm not a fan of either of them.

Worst of all Big airports is DFW.

SEATAC ain't no hawt mama either.

ORD and DFW are just too d@mn big....

FRA and AMS (Frankfurt and Amsterdam) are my favorites, especially if you have access to the Luftansa Senator lounge.

Newark is terrible, but to me, Kansas City is just the worst.

It built in a way that could never accommodate post-9/11 security, so all of the gates are overcrowded, with zero access to restaurants or a decent place to sit.

These are the gates at KCI:

I wasn't even talking about design.

I meant just outright cleanliness. I never made it out of the terminal at MIA. I had to fly from Nashville to MIA, then MIA to CHS. I got off the plane, went to the bathroom at MIA, wanted to shower, got back on the same plane 30 minutes later, and flew home.

Philly is worse. Detroit the best.***

a ghost town.

Now they just have the world's most unnecessary monorail. You have to go up a flight just to catch the thing and then walk back down, all just to save yourself a 3-4 minute walk.

2021 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg link

EWR, LGA, MCI (KC), LAX, DFW, MIA, OAK are bad ....

DEN (Denver) is most frustrating... but OK once past security.

I like SW terminals at MDW, HOU (Hobby) & DAL (Love) for business.

Southwest Florida terminals TPA, SRQ and RSW ( Ft Myers / Regional Southwest) are nice.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg link

I don't like Dulles

Posted: Dec 18, 2017, 4:52 PM

Let's take a shuttle bus from terminal across tarmac to another terminal. Come on man!

2021 purple level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg link

its not nasty though

[1]
Posted: Dec 18, 2017, 5:26 PM

poorly designed and too big? Maybe.

But not "someone chit on the floor in the men's room and it appears to have been there for a few hours" nasty like MIA.

I flew Hong Kong, Heathrow, Baltimore, Detroit. Saw my family and then rerouted myself to Greenville via Reagan. It’s a messed up life.
