UT hiring Sark may not end very well. Seems like a poor fit.
Sark didn't do that well at UW and might have been fired had not USC hired him to come "back home". It did UW a big favor, Chris Peterson took over and the program went far beyond anything Sark would have dreamed of.
Most folks here know what happened at USC. Then he had one year at Alabama before bolting to the Atlanta Falcons and failing miserably. To his credit, he's done well at Alabama since returning.
Being a successful head coach at UT is so much more than Xs and Os. Dealing with influential boosters, the politics of recruiting Texas HS players, running the corporation known as the football program, hiring great assistants will be difficult.
Mack Brown is the prototypical example of how to succeed at UT. He's was the best glad hander ever and bonded with every influential clique. He forged relationships with HS coaches throughout Texas and recruited like a madman (until complacency kicked in). He hired good assistant coaches, for the most part. This also got dicey the last few years.
I don't see Sark fitting the bill at UT. LOL, he might end up getting a 3rd term as OC at Alabama.
