DE- Shavar Manuel 6-5 262 Tampa, FL IMG Academy

5* from 24/7, #1 SDE, and #3 nationally. 5* prospect from Rivals and their #2 DE and 7th overall. 2nd overall on ESPN's Top 300. In 2014, recorded 61 tackles and 20 sacks. Had 10 sacks as a freshman and 19 as a sophomore. CBS/MaxPreps All American. Also an All State Team member. Was an all county performer as a freshman and sophomore. Has offers from Bama, FSU, Miami, PSU, Fla, OhSt, CU, and others. Has a top three of Bama, FSU, and Miami. It would appear he's FSU bound.

From Jamie Newburg, "I was very anxious to see the 6-foot-4, 260-pounder, as they hosted a very good Tampa Bay Tech team led by Clemson bound Deon Cain. On this night Tech beat Blake 20-6. They did a nice job of scheming Manuel. On the game’s first play from scrimmage, Cain froze Manuel on a zone read option and scored on an 80-yard run. Certainly I see things that he must continue to work on. He can always get bigger, stronger and faster. Manuel can play a little harder. At least for the next two seasons he will constantly see double teams and teams running away from him. There are plays to be made on the other side of the field. He can get there. Of course Manuel can continue to work on his technique. Heck, I already think he does a nice job with it. He has several moves already in his arsenal." RB/ ATH- Mecole Hardman 5'11 175 Elberton, GA Elbert County HS

*Is trying to make it Saturday, still not solidified

4* #3 ATH, 33 overall as per ESPN. Recently participated in Georgia's Junior All Star Game and caught 5 passes for 128 yards and a TD. Has played multiple positions including QB. According to MaxPreps, Hardman tallied 946 rush yards and 10 TDs this past season. Tore his meniscus but still average 135 yards on the ground per game and also caught a pass for a score. In 2013, he rushed for 1672 yards with 17 scores. Stopped by for an unofficial visit recently (January 2015). Attended the Dabo Swinney camp and was by far the fastest player on the day. Hardman is widely known for his elite speed and has clocked a 4.37 40 time. According the HUDL.com, has a 37.5" vertical, 275 bench, and a 385 squat. Was on campus for the Syracuse and scar game. Considered a UT lean with UGA and CU as the top three unofficially. Also has offers from Aub, Fla, GT, Miami, Miss, PSt, scar, and others.

I wouldn't rule us out here just yet for various reasons. Tenn already has RBs so much so that some have transferred, plus they already have two CBs committed (4* Marquill Osborne and 3* Bailey Phillips) and have a committment from 3* ATH Dorian Banks. Plus UGA has a commit in 3* CB Tyrique McGhee and a potential commit in 4* RB B.J. Emmons. And it would appear that Clemson could use an ATH/ DB in the 2016 class. Just an opinion...

LB Tobias Little 6-0 233 Atlanta, GA Mays HS

In 2014, he had 63 tackles, 10 TFL, 5 sacks, FF, FR, an INT, and 11 QB hurries. Rivals rates him as the #29 LB and a three start recruit. Per 24/7, he is the #14 ILB. ESPN also gives him 3*. Last season Little had 70 tackles with 8 sacks and 1 interception. He also scored 2 touchdowns. In a game against Carver, Little has 6 tackles, two TFL, a sack, 2 QB hurries, and returned an INT 28 yards for a score. 2nd Team Class AAAAA Georgia All-State. 2nd Team All-Region 6-AAAAA. Attended 2014 Jr Day and received and offer. Returned three weeks later to attend the spring game. Has offers from CU, Cincy, UNC, GT, Mizzu, NCSt, scar, and VT. Could be a potential commit for this weekend according to a source.

Latest on Clemson-[i/] "I like it up there a lot," Little said. "It feels like home. I really like Clemson. I'm supposed to be going back there before my spring game."

Short read after the ATL MVP Camp-" If anyone stood out more than this underclassman Sunday, tell me about him. Little is a 6-1, 236 pound linebacker with offers from Clemson and Georgia Tech, but that number will grow soon. He looks like a college linebacker now and he is definitely best going north-south, but the way he ran with the smaller running backs stood out a lot. One to know for sure." Film-
http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1707780/highlights/179492375/v2

The latest- “They are my favorites as of right now, and I have a great relationship with Coach (Brent) Venables. He keeps me on my toes. I’ve seen everything I need to see, but I will be back up there for the spring game. I want to go to the next level, and Coach V is the kind of coach that can help me get there.”
From September- “I could see myself committing to Clemson today,” Little said. “The only reason I haven’t is because I want to take it slow. I’ve visited Clemson four times and I love it. I talk to the coaches a lot and it isn’t always about football. They stress family. I love their fans too. They’re crazy about the prospects and the players.”

A scout's take- "Remember this name, Tobias "Peewee" Little. It's rare that you see a kid with this size (6'2 220LB), speed (4.78 40). and power (medicine ball 30'8''). He showed he can play with his hand in the dirt by winning the linemen's big dawg challenge. He didn't just power through guys, but used a great linemen's spin technique to get past offensive linemen. Also, showed the ahtleticism to move to LB and drop back in pass coverage during 5v5's. Little attends Mays HS in Atlanta, GA and is without a doubt a D-1 prospect.
Read more: http://www.n-p-f-a.com/players-to-watch/southeast/atlanta/

From Barry Every- He currently plays defensive end for the Raiders but most likely projects as a FBS level inside linebacker. Little has a great frame for bouncing around the tackle box as he is thick from head to toe. Versus Ware County he racked up three tackles and one sack. His defensive pressure did not allow the Gator signal caller to spend any time looking downfield. He will need to get reps playing on two feet and dropping in coverage. Little already boasts five offers.

2017 Prospects

LB DeAndre Byrd

QB Jay Urich (might make it)

S Davondre "Tank" Robinson 6-0 190 Lake Marion, SC Lake Marion HS
According to MaxPreps.com, in 2014 he had 79 tackles, 5 INTs, and 6 PBUs. The site also has him going 45 of 81 for 835 yds, 4 TDs and 1 INT. He also totaled 872 yds and 5 TDs on 75 carries (an avg of 11.6 yds). In his freshman year, he completed 27 of 43 passes for 452 yds and 4 TDs. Robinson also had 32 tackles and an interception. 24/7 gives him 4 stars, the #7 S, and #97 overall prospect. Rivals.com also gives Robinson 4 stars. Scout.com also gives him 4 stars. Plays QB for his high school but most expect that Robinson will play safety or outside linebacker at the college lever. Attended CU's Junior Day. Holds a 3.8 GPA. Visited for the 2013 UGA game. On Clemson- "It's real nice. I like it."
<###### width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/#####/yCuztexxVZQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>
"He is a good one now and he is going to be a very good one," said Coach Carter. "He is a physical kid who makes a lot of plays for us. Coaches have been talking to me about him since he was a freshman and he is going to have a lot of offers. He has a bright future." Scout's Chad Simmons' says: Remember this name. It is early, but Robinson flies around the field, he plays with aggression, and he delivers some huge hits at safety. He closes on the ball well, he can come downhill, and he is a prospect that will attract big offers over time."
RB Colin Wilson 6-1 200 Green Cove Springs, FL Clay HS
24/7 has him as a 4 star recruit, the #3 RB, and #32 overall. Rivals.com also gives Wilson 4 stars. In 2014, had 1555 yards on 218 carries with 27 TDs. Had 8 100 yard games. Caught 6 passes for 197 yards and 2 scores. Has offers from Clemson, Auburn, GT, Miami, Tenn, UNC, and others. Runs a 4.63 40. For film- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2796883/colin-wilson

OLB/S D'Marco Jackson 6-0 180 Spartanburg, SC Broome HS

All Region 3-AAA Football Selection. Visited in the fall. Also attended CU's Junior Day. Runs a 4.65 40, has a 235 bench, and 425 squat. Drawing interest from Clemson, North Carolina, and others. “(Venables) sees me as an outside linebacker/strong safety,” Jackson said. “They see me as a hybrid. (Venables) said he was talking about I’ve got the size and everything. If I put on weight, that would be great.”
Short Read- The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder jumps off the screen with his size and physical play from the secondary, and his head coach Jet Turner believes he's a legitimate high-level prospect.
"He had 22 tackles against Union," Turner said at Broome High during a scouting visit. "He had a punt block, a kickoff return for touchdown, he rushed for 90 yards, and scored the game-winning two point conversion." According to Turner, the physical safety's future could actually be in the defensive front seven.
"He's going to be an inside linebacker," the coach said. "He's 185 pounds right now. He's going to be 6-2, 220. He might be an outside linebacker, but he's legit. We would love for him to play inside linebacker but we have no secondary, so he's our free safety.

WR/ATH Cameron Easton 6-0 170 Fort Washington, PA Upper Dublin HS

In 2014, Easton caught 32 passes for 561 yards with four touchdowns. He also had four interceptions with 7 PBUs. Was an All Conference Team WR in 2013. Runs a 4.53 40 and has a 33" vert. Unofficially visited CU on Nov 22, 2014. Scheduled a visit to CU's 2015 spring game. “I know about the academics and how it’s a great school all-around. On the football, I want to learn more about Howard’s Rock. It’s going to be fun. I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been invited to different places, but Clemson was definitely number one on that list,” Easton said.

WR Ryan Jones 6-2 200 Charlotte, NC Ardrey Kell HS

During his sophomore year, Jones caught 34 passes for 680 yds and 6 TDs. Has early offers from Clemson, Vandy, UVA, WVU, and others. 24/7 rates him 4 stars, the #14 ATH, and #103 overall.

On Clemson- “That was my second time there,” he told TheClemsonInsider earlier this week. “I really like it there. They have great facilities and all that stuff, so it was good. The locker room is really nice. (Pearman) also showed us what it will look like, the players’ lounge and everything. It’s a lot of stuff in there. It’s nice,” Jones said. “I hear a lot from Georgia, Notre Dame, Nebraska, UNC, Duke, those are the main ones, and Clemson,” Jones said.

Film- https://tape.preps.com/h/nc/charlotte/ardrey-kell-high-school/ryan-jones/freshman-year/101690404/

He attended the Adidas Georgia Combine and was one of the top performers. Woody Wommack writes, "Jones was one of the most impressive receivers in attendance, showing off great speed and ball skills to go with his impressive 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame. Jones is a rising junior, but with his playmaking skills, it's easy to see why he's already gathered offers from Clemson, West Virginia and others."

LB Justin Foster 6-4 205 Shelby, NC Crest HS

Clemson was the first school to offer Foster. In 2014, he tallied 57 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 FF. He is also a really good basketball player and is rated as the #8 player in NC. According to MaxPreps.com, he averages 9.7 points, 1.1 assist, 6.5 rebounds, and two blocks a game. Film- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1735360/justin-foster

Short Read- Coach Mark Barnes says of Foster, "Number one, he's a rangy guy- he's 6-3, 6-3 1/2. He's long armed, wide-shouldered, and he's thin at 205, 210 pounds and can really, really run. He plays well in space and got more and more comfortable as the year went on playing closer to the line-of-scrimmage - that's what young guys really struggle with. Another thing he really has going for him." http://northcarolina.scout.com/story/1513062-2017-target-justin-foster
On Clemson- “I had been to (North) Carolina games and I had been to Wake Forest, but the atmosphere at Clemson was totally different,” he said. “The way they treated you, all the schools treat everyone nice, but at Clemson they treat everyone like a family. It feels like a big family thing and all the fans and everything. I really liked that, like how they treated everybody around there and the atmosphere. The atmosphere was totally different from any other game I’d been to.”

2018

QB Dakereon Joyner 6'1 175 North Charleston, SC Fort Dorchester HS
Led his team to an 11-3 record. Earned a share of the conference title. Reports say he runs a 4.54 40 time. Is a 2014 MaxPreps Freshman All American. Currently holds offers from UNC, UGA, and scar. scar offered him before he ever took a varsity snap. Wears the number 5 because he lost his father 5 years ago. All three 24/7 crystal ball projections have him going to Clemson. He visited CU for the CU vs. UNC game. Grew up a UNC fan but has said he's backed off of them. I believe he visited for the CU vs scar beat down. Food for thought- he just turned 14 prior to the start of the season.

2014 stats (in split time with senior Kobe Garrett): 43-92 529 yds 3 TDs, 2 INTs. Ran for 231 yds and a score. 4 receptions for 26 yds.

Article (video of this interview is below): NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – This week's Athlete of the Week already has a scholarship offer from South Carolina before ever playing a single down of varsity football.

Fort Dorchester has plenty of current professionals who started as Patriots, many of whom were coached by Steve Laprad.

But 14-year-old Dakereon Joyner could be better than all of them. It’s a path still untraveled for the teen.

“We've had a lot of good athletes, been fortunate. But I've never had one this mature who handles his business like this. He loves the game, loves playing, practicing. He doesn't mind working hard. The biggest thing for him is how he handles the next four years,” Laprad said.

Without ever stepping out onto the field, he’s already pulled in an offer from Steve Spurrier.

“I had just turned 14. The first thing I did was thank God, without Him I can't do anything, then I thanked my Mom and my sister,” said Joyner.

Spurrier saw what Laprad saw in Joyner.

“You get kids, we coaches call it the ‘it factor.’ Some just have it. I don't know where it comes from. He's got about six helpings of it,” Laprad said.

But the thing that pushes a boy to play like a man, a forced maturity, is the loss of his father five years ago.

The number 5 on his back is a reminder of what pushes his heart.

“It helps me, the stuff my dad did in high school. I want to do the same things. I want to accomplish his goals and beat his records,” Joyner said.

“I can tell it's a motivating factor for him. His mother makes sure he does the right things. She's tough; it's good. Very educated, great job. She's a great role model. I see it out here,” Laprad said. “He has that extra gear. If that's from his dad, wow. I think it tells you what kind of kid he is.”

On the field, he stands out because of how he carries the football. Off the field, the attention is on how he carries himself.

“Every morning, he comes in and shakes every coach's hand. Every morning. He's usually the first one on the field. That's the difference. Everybody knows how good he is, but it's the way he handles it,” Laprad said.

The young man with a plan is humbly handling his business with a smile, knowing he has a long way to go.

“I have four years to think about it. I have many ideas. I’m looking at USC, but I have four years to think about it,” Joyner said.

But first, he still has to take the field for that first Friday night under the lights.

An article from the C&P: Fort Dorchester's Dakereon Joyner: Better than Carlos Dunlap, Robert Quinn and Byron Maxwell?

When it's all said and done, freshman quarterback Dakereon Joyner will be the best player to ever put on a pair of shoulder pads at Fort Dorchester High School. At least that's the opinion of Patriots head coach Steve LaPrad. Considering the number of talented players to pass through Fort Dorchester, that's a pretty bold statement from the coach.

Three of LaPrad's former players currently are starters on NFL teams - Cincinnati defensive lineman Carlos Dunlap, St. Louis defensive lineman Robert Quinn and Seattle defensive back Byron Maxwell. Dunlap was the MVP of Florida's win over Oklahoma in the 2009 BCS national championship game. Quinn was second in the NFL in sacks last season with 19 and signed a $65.6 million contract over the summer, and Maxwell started in the Seahawks' secondary during last year's Super Bowl run.

"Carlos, Robert and Byron were all great players, great athletes and have gone on to have great careers, but I believe that Dakereon will be the best we've ever had here," LaPrad said.

It's not just Joyner's freakish athletic ability that makes LaPrad believe in his young freshman quarterback, it's his mental approach to the game.

"Dakereon is mature beyond his years," LaPrad said. "He's a great student in the classroom and he's got a very high football IQ. He studies the game. The difference between Dakereon and those guys is his ability to process information and the way he deals with different situations.

"Every time he steps on the field, he learns something new and when he makes a mistake, he doesn't make it a second time. At 14, that's special."

LaPrad said he first noticed Joyner during an impromptu workout with middle school players two years ago. An assistant coach told LaPrad that Joyner, then 12, had just run the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. LaPrad couldn't believe it, thinking the coach had started the stopwatch late. Joyner ran it again, this time finishing in 4.48 seconds.

"That got everyone's attention," LaPrad said. "The middle school coach said he didn't want to start Dakereon at quarterback because he wouldn't stay in the pocket. I told him I didn't want him staying in the pocket."

As an eighth-grader, Joyner skipped over the B team and played for the Patriots' junior varsity, normally reserved for ninth- and 10th-graders. He averaged nearly 200 yards of total offense a game.

"Here's an eighth-grader playing Class AAAA football at junior varsity level and in most games, he was the best player on the field," LaPrad said. Over the summer, LaPrad took Joyner to a passing camp at South Carolina. After just a handful of throws, Joyner had a scholarship offer from the Gamecocks.

"It didn't take long for South Carolina's coaching staff to realize that Dakereon was a player," LaPrad said.

Last weekend, Joyner attended the Clemson-North Carolina game and had a pre-game meal with Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris.

"I gotta believe that every school in the country will offer him before he's done," LaPrad said.

The attention doesn't seem to faze Joyner. "I don't think about it," Joyner said. "If you start to believe what everyone is telling you, then you're in trouble. Each day I just want to work hard, grind it out and get better."

Working Joyner into the Patriots' offense was a problem for the coaches early this season. Fort Dorchester already had an established quarterback in senior Kobe Garret, but LaPrad knew he had to get his talented freshman more involved in the Patriots' offense.

Joyner played most of the first five games at wide receiver, catching just four passes.

After losing to Goose Creek, 17-0, LaPrad decided it was time to put Joyner at quarterback and have Garrett become more of a running back/slot back dual threat.

"Kobe is the leader of our football team and he's our best runner," LaPrad said. "I think this makes us a better offensive team and Kobe has been great about the switch. He's going to play in college and they want him as a slot receiver, so this is a good change for him."

Joyner didn't know he was starting for the first time until just before kickoff against Wando last Friday night.

"If I had known all week I probably would have been nervous, so I'm glad they didn't tell me until that night," Joyner said.

Joyner had nearly 200 yards of total offense and threw two TD passes in the Patriots' 24-0 win over Wando.

"Wando threw a lot of different looks at him, a lot of different coverages and he handled it all really well," LaPrad said. "Don't get me wrong, there's still a whole lot of room for improvement, but for his first start he acted like a senior who'd been starting for the last four years." http://www.postandcourier.com/article/20141002/PC20/141009818

More reads: You think smooth when watching Dakereon Joyner. He is a freshman. He is 14 years old. He is just a couple of games into his high school football career. He is good.

Joyner glides down the field and he has a burst when he gets the ball at this younf age. He has grown up playing a lot of quarterback, but will likely be recruited as a wide receiver. One school has seen enough to offer him a scholarship.

"I went to camps at South Carolina and N.C. State over the summer and one day after camping at USC, they offered me a scholarship," said Joyner. "Coach Spurrier called my coach when we were on our way to a 7-on-7 and offered me.

"After telling my coach that, I talked to Coach Spurrier and he just told me to stay humble and not to get the big head. It was exciting and I was shocked by the offer. It almost brought me to tears."

Clemson was at his school Friday afternoon, then at his game Friday night, so the Tigers have their eye on the 6-foot-1, 170 pound freshman. Alabama recently called his coach to check on him too. Joyner traveled from his home in Charleston, S.C. to Columbia Saturday to see a great game between Georgia and South Carolina. He liked what he saw.

"It was my first South Carolina game. It was exciting and I liked the way they treated me. I actually felt like I was on the team when I was in the locker room after the game. After the game, Joyner spoke with current Gamecocks Mike Davis and Dylan Thompson as well as coaches, Steve Spurrier, Jr. and Everette Sands. He has high interest in the Gamecocks.

"I like South Carolina, Clemson, and Georgia," said Joyner. "I grew up a fan of North Carolina, but my interest is not the same now as it was in them.

"I like the three schools that I like right now because they are close to home. I do not want to go far to college."

The early offer from the Gamecocks is Joyner's first, but it will not be his last. Schools are already attracted to the 14-year old playmaker.

"It is my style of play [that schools like]. I am a very cool player, I set the tone, and I am team player. I also make guys miss and out-smart linebackers and defensive backs when I have the ball in my hands." http://recruiting.scout.com/story/1451036-dakereon-joyner-s-a-name-to-know

Article on still grasping the game: ...Joyner, who took over as the Patriots starting quarterback a month ago, had flashes of brilliance against Colleton County, but also had moments when he looked like a 14-year-old kid making his fourth career start.

Joyner completed six of 18 passes for 134 yards, but missed several wide open receivers throughout the game. Joyner took over for Garrett, who had been a two-year starter for the Patriots.

"Kobe is our best running back we've got and Dakereon is our best passer," said Fort Dorchester coach Steve LaPrad. "We needed to get them both of them on the field, and having Dakereon at quarterback seemed like the best way to do it."

With Joyner struggling with his accuracy Friday night, Garrett took over at quarterback in the third quarter and immediately led the Patriots on two scoring drives.

"Kobe is still our guy, he's the leader of this team and I thought putting him back there might settle things down," LaPrad said. "Kobe is a tremendous playmaker and we need to get the ball in his hands as much as possible."

Garrett capped an eight-play, 59-yard drive with a three-yard TD on the Patriots' opening possession of the third quarter.

After a Raquan Simmons' 52-yard punt return for a TD, Garrett found Diondre Champaigne for a 25-yard TD pass to put the Patriots up 29-0 late in the third quarter. Garrett rushed the ball 10 times for 55 yards and completed three of four passes for 48 yards and caught two passes for 29 yards.

"Dakereon is a great quarterback and he's going to be really good over the next three years," Garrett said. "Coach put me back at quarterback to kind of settle things down and get everyone back on the same page." http://www.postandcourier.com/article/20141017/PC20/141019356

Excellent Post, thanks so much for the post and the hard work you put into it. On Shavar Manuel, coming up with Chase and Smith it would seem he's going to get an earful on the way, here and on the way back from his 2 other buddies. I suspect that Dabo and crew will roll out the Orange carpet for the lad?

I kinda wish the spring game wouldn't be his first visit to Clemson. With the coaches being occupied on the game it might be hard to give him the VIP treatment but I wouldn't be surprised to hear about a cardboard cutout weighting for him.

I thought Joyner and Tank Robinson were going to UGA?

Heard they were going to the UGA Spring Game earlier this week. Did they change their mind?

I think Shavar is going to fsu according to many of their sites. If it's btw our spring game or theirs he's going to theirs. They about to have Shavar teaming up with the big time DE from last cycle ugh

Yes, this needs to be updated

The aforementioned duo of Joyner and Robinson will be in Athens on Saturday. Also, it appears that Shavar Manuel will not be in Clemson on Saturday but T.J. Chase and Rahshaun Smith should be there. Regardless look at it like this, our 2015 commits visiting on Saturday are 3 4*s and 2 3*s while our 2016 commits visiting are 1 5*, 2 4*s, 2 3*s. And we're accepting applications....
