Rumors in Texas is Tom Herman could be next Coot HC

He was in the running when muschamp was hired so he already knows the school and Tanner. Things are not going so great with him and U of Texas. There is word he may be let go soon but him taking a job at another school BEFORE he is let go would be a "soft landing" for him. Herman taking the coot job would solve 3 problems:

1 Texas gets a new head coach
2 Coots get a big name
3 Herman saves face by not getting fired

If Tom can't win consistently at Texas...

with their seemingly infinite resources, why would anyone think he would fare any better of uof6c.

Talk about a major step backwards.

Absolutely NO ONE leaves Texas for uof6c.

They'd be better off taking their chances with Napier. He'd certainly be cheaper. Herman currently makes upwards of $5 million annually and his buyout is $15 million.

If I'm Herman, I'd make Texas fire me and pay me the $15 million.

Those crazy coots are going to keep doing the same stupid thing by hiring either an old coach or a coach that cannot win consistently. Texas has more money than any other school. But I guess to some coaches they need those big contracts to keep their wives happy and live the upper upper class life style. If Herman takes the coot job where will he fall next?

thinks that USCjr. would be a "soft landing"?!? LOLOLO...I can't wait for that to happen if true. Herman could absolutely forget about being a HC again once he crashes and burns at USCjr.

if he cannot win at TEXAS, no way he's winning at South Carolina.

It is quite the stretch to say that the head coach of Texas leaving

Texas has waaay more resources and allure than SCar could ever dream of and they have access to some of the most fertile recruiting grounds in America, yet Herman has failed miserably. Very Muschampish.

So he wasn’t interested last time they had a vacancy but now that

the job sucks even more, now he’s interested this time?

This is classic coot thinking on full display.

Let’s hire a guy that is at great school that has all the recruits under his feet. And then after they fire him say , hey let’s hire ANOTHER GUY at a great school that has All the recruits under our feet. Champ killed Florida. Herman can’t fix TExas. Seems like par for the course for the coots.

That could only mean Chip Kelly (a guy failing in California) would follow Herman. Silly Coots.

I, for one, would welcome this. Have you seen his wife?***

I don't get Texas...

Herman has been as/more successful than any other coach at Texas in the past 10 years (includes Mack's final few years). Give him some time. He is a good coach, schools have to develop coaches the same way (of sorts) as players.

4-2 is not the time to write off a coach in their 4th year. Especially a young one.

I would not be surprised to find out that Texas does not have a Dabo and entire Staff contract package sitting on somebody’s desk at Texas. 12 million a year. Maybe more. Texas can afford it even with a big buyout.

Might be very Tempting for Dabo and his entire staff. What do you guys and gals think???

So they're going to go from a coach that

couldn't win at Florida to a coach that couldn't win at Texas? Good luck with that.

Would be like going from a ferrari to a pinto.***
