Read about VT's Bike Helmet Safety Lab the other day.

The second highest rated helmet is also the cheapest. I bought one. In addition to safety and saving some bucks, the $50 helmet does not hurt so much to throw away should you take a header.

my Specialized Ambush isnt as good as I thought. I assumed all MIPS were good, then its just what fits and looks best.

but in that picture, if you look close you can see that the poor man's head has come completely off his body. At that point I'm not sure that protecting the skull is really a priority.
