He will transfer next year anyways. He’s not playing over TL.

the way Dabo coaches TL will not start because he has a lot to learn and/or KB has far more experience! Mark my words

So next year, after playing Furman we go on the road at Texas A&M in front of 100,000 and you start TL over KB? Just askin.

If he beats out KB in practice. Which is possible. But either way HJ won’t play, because I know for a fact TL will back up Kelly if Kelly wins the starting job.

That's what I'm thinking and HJ looked sharp vs WF. His passes look crisp and accurate. At the time he threw that TD , KB or ZC were doing nothing.

Have you seen Johnson read a defense?

Go through progresssions? Get us out of the wrong play at the LOS? There's more to playing QB than throwing the ball.
Bryant has proven he can play the position, and we'll. Neither Cooper or Johnson have proven anything. And neither you nor I nor anyone else have seen what the coaches have seen in practice in regards to those things.
So you saying Johnson is the guy who should be playing is based on what? His high school career?

Based on we,are struggling on offense without Bryant. The only drive that has shown any signs of life without him involved Johnson at QB. I think we are,all just asking to do what you say and go with the hot hand! To do that they should both get a shot!!

but on a short week on the road to try to get three QB's ready to play is near impossible. Just not enough reps.

KB has only proved that he can't do all those things. His last interception into double coverage

You have to at least understand Dabo's thinking going with KB.
1. Making another run at a Championship, who gives you the better chance to win every game a Jr or true Fr. I guess the thinking is the true Fr could play you out of a win where as the Jr should not make as many mistakes having been in the system for years. Play conservative on Offense and the Defense should keep you in all games. And once Dabo and the staff picked KB they were not going to change their decision. Would Watson have gotten a chance to play if Stoudt does not get hurt? Dabo maybe loyal to a fault.
2. Also if a true Fr starts over guys that have been in the Clemson system for years what does that say about developing QB's?
It also hard for these guys to follow in DW foot steps. The bar is very high.

at FSU, and Stoudt wasn't hurt then. So yes, he did. They just didn't start him at Athens in his first career game or against SC State where he actually played more than Stoudt. After that, if DW could go, he was in there

Have you seen KB hobbling before he was nearly killed?

He should not have been in the game until 100% instead of 50%. So the choice is either Cooper or Johnson. I would have started with Johnson. If after 1 or 2 quarters he wasn't working out then Cooper or if you stubborn folks like put KB in there....but he just would have been hobbling...

Seven games in to the season

the only players who are 100% are the scout team, maybe. Kelly was hobbled, but he still has us in position to win when the turf got him. The decision was based on who gave us the best chance to win. The coaches thought a less than 100% Bryant did that more so than Cooper or Johnson. And they knew they had two weeks to heal after this game.
Obviously they felt a guy with three years in the system and big wins under his belt was the better bet than two guys with zero meaningful game experience, even at less than 100%.
It didn't work out, not because he was hobbled, but because his head was slammed in to artificial turf. That could have happened even if he was 100%

everybody on the field has a nagging injury of one sort or another. Hobbled with an ankle sprain is hardly going to keep the first-string qb out of the game. And really, the reason he got knocked out is because he tried to take off and run for the first down on a non-running play.

Half his game is running....can't run then left with the pass. Not the best passer on the team but good enough to get by if he can run.

at reading defenses, changing blocking schemes, getting in to the right play, knowing the offense, and all other intangibles that go in to not just throwing a pass. His passing was fine when protection held up

He has 4 passing TDs through 6 and a half games and twice that number rushing. Knowing all the presnap stuff is great but if when he couldn't effectively execute his game the way it needs to be which means a lot of running he should not have been in.

If things keep going the way they are, we'll be lucky if KB isn't in a wheelchair when TL gets here.
