Tanner Muse

Others may have already posted this, but I thought Tanner played a really good game Monday.
I'm among those who have pointed to him as a liability in coverage over the last two years. He's got really good straight line speed, but not such great lateral quickness.
But he was really effective Monday night. I expected our safeties and LBs to get victimized in some mismatches. They held up pretty much all game. Never thought our CBs would get abused the way they did, especially Terrell.

Terrell's first half just happened to be his worst half of football in a Clemson uniform.
It was a truly unfortunate time to have that type of performance.
In his defense however, he had good coverage on the first TD bomb and the guy blatantly shoved him out of the way to catch the ball for a TD.

Exactly... He should have flopped like that LSU DB and perhaps he would have gotten a call. Not that I really believe that..

Shoving DBs out of the way is penalty, at least for some players.

Muse and Turner played good and we have a bad bad man at DC. Venables is at the top of DC in college. What we do on offense though will win us the ACC from a talent perspective. Elite defenses will continue giving our offense trouble time for a refresh schematically. Hope Streeter helps imagine TL or DJ in an offense like what LSU ran or with concepts from The Chiefs . Would be awesome but it's time to upgrade .

I had the same concerns you did from a coverage standpoint and was surprised to see our corners get exposed. Great job by Muse/Wallace/Turner/Johnson.

LSU came into the game getting 2/3rds of their passing offense between the hashes, so BV decided to pack the middle with safeties and leave his corners on islands against two 1000 yard, going-to-the-NFL receivers. LSU saw this and went deep and outside early and often.
I thought the corners did a pretty good job against great receivers and a QB dropping dimes. #### happens.

just can't count on, but LSU was just a perfect storm that night. It's nice to know that only perfection with a smidge of luck can beat us. I'll take those odds every game.

Tanner had probably the best game of any of our defenders against LSU.
He had a good game against OSU, too.
I think he helped his draft stock in his last two games for us.

...his mind as well. Very impressed by him and Tanner Monday night. Hate that Jamie couldn't finish the game. There was a clear intensity difference after he left.

I for sure had the same concerns. Never in my life did I think the AJ would play so bad. It still baffles me that these guys don’t play off the receiver a little more to make sure they don’t get burned. I would have taken out AJ for at least a couple plays and given someone else a shot.

They were that good on offense . Play off and they will slant the D to death or dump off to the running back
