That is actually a fallacy that these kids do not understand. You don’t get better playing games. You get better during practice. He’s not gonna make it to the NFL no matter what, but he would get better at Clemson going up against NFL talent in practice versus transferring to a school to be a starter on Saturday. He will still play at Clemson. He will still get plenty of snaps. He just won’t be a starter. This is extremely shortsighted and kids doing this are getting bad advice! These kids are listening to people that may have good intentions but they really don’t understand the implications of what they’re pushing these kids to do.

Well you answered it yourself. If you aren’t going to “make it to the NFL no matter what” then why wouldn’t you spend your last year of football playing more? If football brings him joy and he’ll never get to do it again then why not spend it one last time playing a good deal more?

Would you rather play more for a crappy team with strangers in a ###### climate far away from family or friends
Or
Play less close to home with your friends and win championships and get your degree.
Call me crazy but I’d rather play less and win and get my degree plus superior weather and my family can watch me play.
So many of these kids are making short sighted irrational decisions. And clearly getting bad advice.

That would be your decision and this is his. If he thinks it’s what’s best for his life then how is he getting bad advice?
Quit being so emotional about where a young man plays football.

Actually they get better with practice and game experience. Neither part can give what the other does. In practice you can work on improving your weaknesses, without exposing them. In games, things are more unpredictable, so you have the chance to become better at reading situations and adapting on the fly.
Even if I were to say that you were right, does Clemson have an Oline significantly better than Minnesota? Pinckney competes AGAINST the offensive line in practice. I hope that he enjoys his time and uses it to become a more diverse and well rounded individual. Good Luck Nyles.

Yes, same here! That was the exact moment I realized the night belonged to our Tigers. They were not going to be denied. Good luck Mr. Pinckney. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger.
Go Tigers!

Stop on by the house Nyles when you get into the Twin Cities and I can smoke you some pork Carolina style with some Wise’s BBQ sauce that my dad sent up.
Wondering if he knows how freaking cold it gets up here. Completely different world than Clemson.

Lived up there in the late 90s for a summer going through new employee training. Lived near Loring Park and worked mostly in Wayzatta (sp)?
Was great...but I was out of there mid Oct when weather didn’t suck. July through Sept was great. But there is a reason all the buildings downtown have elevated/heated walkways.

The cold air must have weakened their minds. Pretty in Summer. A horror movie in Winter (and Winter lasts a long time).

You want more playing time and you weren't going to get it at Clemson. Appreciate your contributions!
P.S: I like PJ Fleck a lot but he's a huge style change from Dabo. However, one big thing they have in common is truly caring for players.
I grew up in very cold Indiana. The winters were brutal. But let me tell you one thing: While living there, I couldn't imagine being in Minnesota. When it was -10 in Indy, it would be -35 in Minneapolis. Only time we went to Minnesota was to fish in the summer. They don't call it the Land of 10,000 Lakes for nothing.
There is nothing you can catch that tastes like a walleye pike. Northerns aren't bad either.

Secret agent for Dabo. Scouting Fleck to replace Elliott

as our next OC after Elliot gets a head coaching gig. Clemson OC is an upgrade over Minnesota has coach job. May pay better also.

That was really quick decisions that they both have made, and I'm afraid that both of them have made a serious mistake, especial if it was their FB career they were wanting to improve on as a reason for leaving. Out of any of ours that left through the transfer portal, has any of them bettered themselves or their game after they left. I can't think of one, and I don't think either one of these two will either!!!!
