If there was any doubt about having an extremely motivated electorate this year....

Vote early, or prepare to stand in very long socially distanced lines.

Nope. As Chuck Grassley clearly stated "It has been standard practice over the last nearly 80 years that Supreme Court nominees are not nominated and confirmed during a presidential election year.”

Surely the Republicans who spent a year blocking Merrick Garland's appointment wouldn't prove themselves to be such obvious hypocrites would they?

Grassley is not being honest there. The only time it happened was ‘16.

R’s had the senate and the House at the end of a president’s second term... no dem will mention that part though. Good partisan talking points at play here. If Obama could’ve placed a justice- he would’ve. Trump can and will.

You can blame the nuclear option on the Dems. And regardless what Chuck Grassley said, Mitch McConnell said there would be a vote and there will be, which will result in a 6-3 majority.

Right.

Dems can't ever be hypocrites, because they've never found a principle they're willing to support. Or even promise to.

Since it takes principles to be a hypocrite, ergo, only Republicans can be hypocrites.

No, I don't.

Sorry.

Because representative politics is the art of persuasion and compromise, all of them at times change their positions and contradict themselves. It is the nature of the business. If that's hypocrisy, then yes, they're all hypocrites.

It is extremely rare that I find a Democrat standing for anything other than the unapologetic pursuit of power.

They expect you to accept this, because they represent the people, whereas Rs are not supposed to pursue power, because they represent...I dunno, churches, or millionaires, or themselves, or somebody other than people.

You do realize supporting a man (Biden),if you want to call that floppy floppy fish a man, who supposedly cares so much about black lives and wants to incite riots and carnage with his hate speech when he voted with Robert (KKK) to stop segregation and then didn’t want his kids to grow up in a racial jungle. That’s true hypocrisy. Not to mention the quid pro quo of firing investigators, judges and anyone else who stood in the way of his family making millions in Russia and China. Talk about hypocrisy!

Also let’s open a salon for a blow out just for Pelosi while shaming anyone who wants a haircut or to choose whether or not they wear a mask. Hypocrite much?

you know darn well that a Democratic President and Democratic majority Senate would start pushing a nominee to fill the Supreme Court vacancy tomorrow. Its politics and both sides will try to take advantage of any that they can get.

He11 Obama even tried to push Merrick Garland through in an election year with a Republican majority Senate. At the time the Democrats all screamed up and down that President Obama was well within authority to appoint a new Supreme Court justice regardless of it being an election year or not. So please spare us with the Democrats are all angels and Republicans are all devils BS. No political party has a monopoly on hypocrisy - they all wallow and live in it.

Because he was. And Trump would be now too if McConnell set the precedent that a judge can't be appointed in an election year during Garland's attempted appointment.

This shows your ignorance but we all knew it. Obama certainly could have put forth a candidate and he did. But that candidate didn’t have a chance of being affirmed because senate rules at the time allowed unlimited debate unless a cloture vote happened, requiring 3/5ths or 60 votes. Democrats didn’t have the numbers and said the rule needed to change.

Dems cried and whined and complained that the cloture vote needed to be changed. So, you got what you wanted. A change to the cloture vote in April 2017 from 3/5th majority to a simple majority. Now, the filibuster can be put to bed, and the nominee can be voted on, just like the bat crazy democrats wanted.

Before you whine and complain and riot, call up your favorite Democrat senator and tell them, “Welp, we got what we asked for and it bit us in the butt.”

HELLO!!! MCFLY!!!!! Let's be CRYSTAL f@ckin' clear...

There is no need. 53 republicans in the senate. Vote only needs a simple majority. The votes are there without him.

She was a very very very bad human being. Anyone who openly supported abortion as she did for so many years, there is no RIP. Murdering the unborn and or supporting it is about as horrific as it gets.

And I can promise u Kamala will appoint someone more liberal than she was.

On the bright side , the liberals have vowed to and I quote " burn this nation to the ground" if Trump is allowed to appoint a replacement. Hopefully they continue to stick with their own cities and dont get too stupid and end up in an area where people shoot back.

You can't support science while favoring cutting off the next generation of human development.

If we ever become a truly science-based society (I hope we don't), Abortionists and their sponsoring politicians will be viewed as worse than slave traffickers...because they are.

Or is it ok to kill the defenseless unborn because the victims are multiracial?
