to the LAST Big Thursday game. It was a birthday present from my grandmother. Still have the tickets but don't remember the game. We did win though.

I was at that game and remember it well. We slaughtered the coots 27-0. That 1959 team was our best of the 1950s, and most starters had good pro careers.

I attended 6 Big Thursday games, 1954-1959, and those were annual affairs for my family. Because of where we lived and my father's work, those were the only games we could attend those years. Most don't remember that it was a state holiday with offices, banks, and schools closed.

Other treats were attending the state fair and "Little Wednesday." "Little Wednesday" was the game between the two freshman teams the night before the real game. That game gave an idea of how good the year's recruits were.

Mr. Bradley was, without question, one of the nicest men I have known in my life. If you want a model of how to go about your job and how to treat others, he was it. Thanks for posting his picture. It brought back some wonderful memories.

Learn from the memory of Mr. B. One of the finest Clemson man you’ll ever find. And he never tried to make himself seem more important than the other guy. A trait to learn from.
