That's his decision.

IIRC, he was a Trump supporter at one time, or at least a friend of Trump.
That means he either:
A) had a change of heart and no longer supports Trump, therefore declined the award.
or
B) He still supports Trump, but was pressured to declining the award.
If the A, then I agree, he is standing up to Trump and showing backbone.
If B, then he's a man of little conviction and a coward.
Only him and his maker (Satan) know for sure which is the case.

In either scenario,

how much is a medal awarded by Trump really worth now?
Could it be that he doesn't wanna spend the money on the dry cleaning to go and accept the award? Cost/benefit analysis?

So either:
A) He no longer likes Trump.
B) He still likes Trump, but is caving to pressure.
C) He is cheap, and doesn't want to pay to dry clean his Rocky Balboa style cuttoff hoodie.

Nah. He just knows Trump is a scumbag and he doesn't want the dirtiness of accepting the award from him.

What if:
Jan 12, 2021, 10:00 AM
|
|
He knows Trump is a scumbag, isn't bothered at all by "dirtiness of accepting the award", but he is also pressured to turn it down b/c of public image.
Plus he doesn't want to do dry-cleaning.
I call this option: "A little bit of each."

Ryan,
Is it possible that there are more than 2 explanations for Belichek's choicer ? We often view the world through a dichotomous lens that is really not applicable.

Somewhere in this thread we discussed a third option.
Jan 12, 2021, 10:24 AM
|
|
That he is lazy and doesn't want to do dry cleaning.
I prefer to view the world in a Trichotomous lens. I find that it is applicable in nearly all situations.

That's why a people use three legged stools while milking cows. Actually that's not true. Milking stools only have three legs because somebody stole the udder one.

Who has cheapened it on this list.....
Jan 12, 2021, 7:59 AM
[ in reply to Good. Trump has cheapened that award, anyway. ] |
|
Dan Gable Lou Holtz Jim Ryun General Jack Keane Roger Penske Edwin Meese III Bob Cousy Jerry West Art Laffer Tiger Woods Orrin Hatch Allen Page Babe Ruth Elvis Presley Antonin Scalia Roger Staubach
These all have made huge contributions to society, mostly in sport, but in philanthropy, military service, Orrin Hatch is one of the longest term Senators in History of US, Dan Gable opened up a Sport to millions of kids, many whom are underprivileged....
You can nit pick all you want, but no one on this list "cheapens" the award.
Trump has given out 24 in 4 years. Obama gave out 118 in 8 years.

Holtz is a lifetime cheater. And it's funny that you intentionally left Limbaugh off the list, so you KNOW it's been cheapened.
And you left off Devin Nunes, who is getting it for doing nothing but political favors for Trump.
The award is a joke.

Mainly his lack of integrity and honesty. He left every program he ever coached under investigation and probation while playing that "aw shucks" persona. He targeted dirty players for his programs. After he retired, he jumped on board that Get Motivated! scam that swindled several people out of money.

Calling someone like Holtz a POS is showing how insecure you are about yourself and low you are on the totem pole of life.

Totem poles are very sacred items to the people who carve and display them. Figures carved on totem poles represent familial legends, clan lineages or notable events. In some First Nation communities, being low on the totem pole is actually a higher honour than being on the top.

photo-shopped picture of any POTUS awarding it to you.
My picture has ole Slick Willie and Monica awarding it to me. Never voted for him but upon reflection, he’s somewhat of a cult hero for getting impeached for a BJ.
Certainly a conversation stater when hanging in the office.
