Jesus and the American Revolutionaries

Both held to the highest standards by most Americans and both knows for riots.
Jesus didn't trash a Dollar General, he went all out on a holy site while brandishing a weapon.
Riots were common in the name of the colonial cause from the 1760's straight through to 1781.
So for those claiming to be against riots on principle, do you also condemn these historical actors as well? Just curious.

No, that's OT stuff. OT God's name is YHWH. Christians are not bound by Mosaic Law.

So, we go from claiming the rioters are actually right wingers to now comparing them to Jesus.

This is the most pathetic rationale for supporting rioters I have heard yet.
The whole idea behind that statement/question is why the democrats will lose.

Go deeper. Why was it ok to burn Boston in 1765? Compare to now.

Lol wat?! There were opposing views in the 18th century and plenty of Americans were on the side of the crown. Don't get your history from movies, man.

excuse the burning and the looting in our cities today by comparing it to riots in Boston in the 18th century or Jesus running the money changers out of the temple. If necessary create your own incommensurate metaphor.

There is no excuse for either riots now or Boston back then from a legal point of view. The difference between them emotionally is that we are in the middle of one instead of seeing how it turned out. Had the revolution failed we would all be here talking about what horrible traitors and thugs the people back in Boston were. Why couldn’t they just follow the law?!?!?!?! No excuse to break it!
That is the problem, we are looking at something in the past with both the cloud of time and the cultural shifts that took place because of it that reinforce our beliefs it was right (and it was). There were a TON of people then that condemned them and thought they should be jailed, tried for treason etc. Not much different now even to the point where the people who can only see the looting and not the message are acting just like they did 100s of years ago. That is human nature though. We all dig in on certain issues/ideas that bother us more than others while looking right past the rest.
Jesus has nothing to do with either case and we would all do better to follow his example (believe in him or not).

This is a good, honest answer that is rooted in an understanding of the issues and the history behind them. Thanks.

Still a bunch of whining about the question without addressing it. Everybody seems to think it's very obvious why it was ok to burn Boston, but not set a car on fire in Kenosha. It's so simple, yet no one can articulate it.
I appreciate T3Tiger for attempting, even if his thesis that it was ok back then because everyone agreed on it is factually incorrect. He at least tried.

Classy. Funny that you didn't have the mental capacity to understand, much less address, the original post and you think that's somehow a win.
