This is correct. Lawrence has a high top-end (refer to the Etienne play), but doesn't have much explosion from a standing start - he lumbers before picking up speed. To some degree, you could say this about Usain Bolt, who's behind in nearly every race he starts.
Lawrence also runs fairly straight-up, with a high center of gravity. When he was in high school, and saw a defensive lineman coming at him, he'd often use a clockwise "360 spin move" to get away - he instinctively reverted to this once in this year's playoffs. NFL defensive ends will feast on these two things - Trevor needs to work on running lower, and getting that spin move out of his head.

He is fast though.
