Hardly any discussion about the PURPOSE of the protest...

Lots of discussions seeemingly aimed at inciting fear about the protest but hardly any about the purpose of the protest.

These young men are putting themselves on the line to raise awareness and hopefully end systemic racism in this country. They're going under the spotlight to speak their truths and try to change some of the core beliefs that people hold which encourage prejudice and bigotry. The world they're looking at is full of inequities. They should be applauded and supported for trying to change that world.

Every word they say will be dissected and torn apart in order to spin a particular narrative. These are 19-20-21 year olds who are brave enough to try to make a difference. They are due a whole heck of a lot of respect in my book and deserve to be listened to if for nothing else, doing something.

These are world-class and they are the future.

Something that has not been addressed by anyone is that racism is in all races. The narrative is directed only at white people. That will not change because it would not be popular with the media, minorities, liberals, and millenials.

Exactly true. Maybe even more so than people will

Ever know and then don’t even get into trying to gauge hate directed at the group who is “responsible” for all of the systematic problems of society.

As a millennial I agree with you that it is all races that are racist. I also believe that our age group is much less racist than our parents. Ofcourse some still have racist views and some may judge people based on the color of their skin but most of the people I grew up with get along with anybody no matter the race. Heck we grew up idolizing mostly people of a different color than white. I believe the world is becoming less and less racist but the media is making out like the world is full of racism. Yes there is racism out there and still too much of it but it is not as bad from my point of view as many think. At least where I grew up which is a small town in America. It may he different in other places.

They have all been in the southeast/upstate area. Some big, some small. And at each one, I have noticed very questionable behavior when I walk around in the halls of the hospitals. If never fails.

I will be walking maybe 10 feet behind a black person - male or female - and when another black person walks past the black person in front of me, they address them with a "Hey, sister" or "Hey, brother" or something along those lines.

That same person walks past me without so much as making eye contact with me.

But it's only white people who are racists.

I just watched the interview with the 4 organizers of the peaceful protest....

The full interview is on ClemsonTigers.com. Maybe TNet posted it...I am not sure.

Those men have put themselves out there. They expressed their feelings well and talked of a hopefulness they are feeling. They explained that they want this protest to bring Clemson University and the community together...united for a more just world.

There is hurt....and anger.....and hope in those players. Give them a chance.

There is no systemic racism in America. So, just because you believe what you posted, it doesn’t mean you are right. There is no reasoned data to suggest your position. But I bet you learned what you posted in college.

Yet don’t support it with any data. Calling anyone a racist is about as serious and offensive a charge as one can make.

There is no quantifiable substance to your statement and as such, I assumed you were a mind dumbed millennial or recent grad given most of this type of opinions are developed in college.

I rarely feel the need to post anything on here but I do spend too much time reading what my fellow tiger fans think. I swear, I am trying to read through the posts on this board and learn a little about everyone's thoughts here on all that is going on and you show up in almost every one of them with your same tired comments and accusations made with no real facts to support them. And then you decide to up the ante and show your obviously self-proclaimed superior intellect with this Bill Clinton-esque retort. Believe me...I think everyone that visits this board knows absolutely everything you have to offer at this point. Can you please find something else to occupy yourself with for a while like, I don't know, maybe a job or something?

You do know that not one black person in the history of this country ever broke the law but went to jail for no reason. Also look how many white people were arrested in the same time frame. The show 13th tries to say we have a prison problem. They say we have 5% of the population but 25% of the people arrested in our system. There is good reason for this because our legal system has become so pussified that no one fears going to jail. Other countries don't tolerate criminal behavior and that is why they don't have this issue. We try to heal and rehabilitate every criminal arrested. Some of them are just monsters and need to be put down hence serving 20 years on death row is absolutely a joke. Wasting all of our tax payers money to take care of these worthless monsters that deserve to die for taking other peoples lives. It doesn't matter what race you are if you can't see the problem here then you are either blind stupid or both. This is not a race problem as this show tries to make you think. It is a lack of control over the criminals in this country.

The OP makes a big assumption in the second paragraph that gets to the crux of the matter for most of us. The OP states, as if it is a proven fact, that there is "systemic racism" in the USA.

I respectfully disagree. The USA is not systemically racist regardless of the claims by the hate filled Marxist's in our streets. For if that were true these protests would not be allowed, there would be no minority middle class or wealthy people, there would be no minorities in positions of governmental power, there would be no minority CEO's or minority owned businesses, there would be no method of redress for minorities when their rights are violated, there would be no opportunities for minorities to better their station in life through hard work. "The System" would not allow any of these things if it were systemically racist.

So what can a white person achieve in the USA today that is "off limits" or unachievable by Black people or other minorities? If the USA is systemically racist, then why do we have thousands upon thousands of "people of color" leaving their "people of color" dominated countries and doing everything they can to get into the USA both legally and illegally? Do they do so knowing the USA is a systemically racist place where they will have no opportunity to improve their lives? If the USA is systemically racist, why is just about every major big city council and mayoral position dominated by minority representatives? Would a systemically racist country allow minorities to have significant political power and control of governance at the most basic level of society?

What these Marxist movements would have you believe is that there is no opportunity for minorities in this country and that minorities are incapable of achieving anything of significance because the "system" won't allow it. Furthermore, these same groups also offer the only way to fix this "systemic racism" is to completely tear down the system (the capitalist Constitutional Republic) and replace it with their fantasy of a socialist utopia or anarchy. Their solution requires every aspect of our lives must pass through a lens of race and the oppressed vs oppressor judgement. There is no middle ground - you are one or the other with those judged oppressor being stripped of their possessions and banishment. Their demanded solutions will always result in more entitlement for some at the cost of less freedom for all. Government replaces God and becomes the central ruling authority in everyone's life. Everything will ultimately come from the Government's beneficence with an elite enlightened few deciding the apportionment. If minorities want to see real disparity - try these Marxist solutions because it will bring about more misery, suffering, and death just as it has everywhere Marxist ideologies have been implemented.

This country is not perfect but it is a far cry away from being systemically racist. The problem many have is that they believe "equal opportunity" means "equal outcome". The best a just system of governance can do is provide equal opportunity. Only a tyrannical Government can guarantee equal outcomes...

One thing about this movement... It's shining a light on all the racists that have been in hiding.

The average black kid in America must work significantly harder, and overcome significantly more challenges to achieve the same success as the average white kid. It's because the average black kid is less likely to eat as well, live as comfortably, or have access to the same educational resources as the average white kid.

All of that is because the average black kid's parents were less likely to receive a home loan. Maybe that was because the average black kid's dad committed the same minor crime as the average white kid's dad, but the average black kid's dad received a much more significant charge and was sentenced to significantly harsher and longer jail time.

If you don't believe what I just posted is real, then it is you that lives in a whitewashed bubble. A previous poster suggested there is no data to support "systemic" racism in America. Every example I just gave is proven out statistically.

Keep fighting for the right of white people to have advantages that others don't get. Your time is short. You are on the wrong side of history.

"Keep fighting for the right of white people to have advantages that others don't get. Your time is short. You are on the wrong side of history."

How is an insistence that the Constitution be equally applied to everyone somehow a "fight for the right of white people"? I guess you would rather have a Socialist Government of elites deciding the winners and losers based on something like race.

By the way - why don't you define the "average Black kid". What is the "average White kid"? What is the "average Hispanic kid"? What is the "average Asian kid"? I bet you will have to resort to stereotyping to do that which informs your prejudice and leads to racism.

That's the problem I have with most leftists and their identity politics. The moment they see someone they don't see that person as an individual. Instead they see that person as a race and have already categorized how that individual is supposed to think and act based on their race. Where do you think Joe Biden's "you ain't black" comment came from? It came from the left's 200 year obsession with categorizing and characterizing people by race. What is even more insidious is how the left uses their identity politics to build mental prisons that cater to low expectations based on race.

So if you really want to shine the light on the racists in our society - then look no further than today's leftists whose very existence is dependent on maintaining an aggrieved racial class.

BS coot. Some people choose to live that way and let the government take care of them. There is opportunity out there for anyone that wants to take it and run with it. I grew up poor, worked my tail off and got where i am today with the help of the Lord and my mom and dad. I wasn't handed anything like you suggest the average white person has been given everything from birth. This couldn't be farther from the truth. So you can take this load of crap back to the chicken coop with you. This mentality is why they claim to be held back. Well then please tell me how all these people from minority races have come here with nothing or were born with nothing and are now very well off?

Doesn't matter what they are given. It will only be what can we go after next. I would just say you are getting nothing. If you want to improve your life then get out there and start working towards what you want instead of blaming everyone else for what you are not. That is when racism will truly end.
