Folks I'm still shaking

My neighbor is having some trees removed. I watched yesterday afternoon while they were removing the first tree. At 8:50 this morning I went out on the patio to feed the cat and heard the crew working again. I could not see the particular tree the climber was working on so I moved about ten feet to my left. I located the climber and he was about 70' up the tree and was moving around and all of a sudden he fell, he fell parralel to the ground and landed with a loud thud on his right side. I ran over expecting the worst. Miraculously he survived the fall, he has very serious injuries and multiple compound fractures. I don't know the eventual outcome nor do I know him, but I have prayed for him and am asking all of you to do the same. God knows who he is.

It was not pleasant, but I kept talking to him, kept him as still as possible, told him him to hang on that help was on the way.

Not many live oaks that tall, but could easily be a Loblolly Pine. I have many much taller than 70' on my property and if they needed to be cut down near a structure it would have to be topped out first. But, continue being cynical.

I said that I would never recognize you as a human being again some time ago. I will break my vow this one time to acknowledge you for the a hole that you really are. I could give a rats a what you think of me. This man is fighting for his life and all you can do is make snide remarks.

any fall over 50 feet is immediate death, even on soft ground.

and being that you admit to not knowing the guy, and obviously not having an Xray machine handy, how many compound fractures did he have? It does not take much critical thinking to sniff out this BS.

lollers good read.
PGS15 has a history of giving into hyperbole. I would not have called him out if I did not already know his posting habits. I am not doubting the story or his concern, just the details.

Stuff like that never truly gets out of your memory. I once saw a guy get hit by a vehicle and he succumbed to his injuries. I also was the first to call in a drowning on Lake Keowee and was there for the EMS arrival. Thoughts and prayers for you and the victim.

Thanks!!! I already called my friend, and his climber hasn't fell plus, he told me if was to catch any of his climbers not using safety belt, he would fire them before they could climb down out the tree. He has had one climber fall in 20 years, he was hurt pretty bad from 30 feet, and he doesn't climb anymore!!! He also said that pine tree was one of the worst for the climbing spurs coming loose, and not holding their dig in!!!

You can sue if someone's negligence cause you to witness something like. Seeing a co worker hurt or die is proximate cause for emotional distress. Just an interesting point not a recommendation.
