Auburn QB Nick Marshall switching positions

from QB to DB, he said he will have a better chance at making into the NFL by moving to DB. I sure didn't see this coming. Anyone ever seen a QB moving to DB in college? I remember Duane Coleman moving from RB to DB his senior year at Clemson, but have never seen a QB move to DB. I really don't see this move working out for Marshall

Dexter McCleon played QB and defensive back during the Tommy West years. Got drafted as a db I believe. Great athelete.

The interesting thing about this is: 1) there was lots of talk in bowl season about how good a QB Marshall was and how whe would play in the NFL as a QB (I laughed at that); 2) After he left UGA he didn't want to be a DB but wanted to play QB.

At DB? I know he played WR in the NFL but i thought i remembered hearing a NFL team trying him out at DB, im probably wrong though

In the 70s Nebraska third string qb trf to CU where he became a solid defensive end. Not sure he ever got much of a look at qb.
