1 thing I would like to see in ACC title game but won't

is sending ETN on some JET motion.
IMO there are so many things you can do by using this "formation"
First you spread ETN out and move him presnap. No matter what play you run or how the rest of the formation looks, the motion with ETN shows you what defense ND is playing and what their main focus is in terms of who they will stop.
Now the options that you have:
The most obvious is doing this with an empty backfield. ETN's motion will affect ND's LBs and most likely safeties and could give us some wide open throwing lanes to TEs and WRs. If they hesitate and don't run for ETN immediately, we flip it to him and we have ETN in space with the football. Win/win
A less obvious option is running ETN on the JET motion with Lyn J or Mellusi lined up at RB (2 RBs on the field gives our lack of WR depth some rest). This forces ND's LBs to choose whether they want to play the run threat from ETN or from the RB we have lined up in the backfield. This is reliant upon our backup RBs playing as well as they did this past Saturday. Further, you can still throw to Rodgers, Powell, Galloway or whoever else is an eligible receiver in the formation. Win/win/win
Finally you can motion ETN toward trips and leave Rodgers or Powell on an island with a corner. ND will have to commit their safeties to the overloaded side as soon as ETN motions that way. I really like the idea of getting the ball to Rodgers in a 1 on 1 with only 1 defender left to make a tackle. The defender will be forced to give cushion and an easy catch or take the chance of getting beat over the top.
The reason I think this would be so successful is that you are forcing the defense to make adjustments on the fly by moving the focal point of your offense to different spots in the formation.
Does anyone else have any idea of things we could do on offense to get creative? I realize it probably won't happen but a man can dream.

JUMBO PACKAGE!!
but yea I like the idea of pre-snap motion. Especially with ETN in. Wouldn’t be surprised if Elliot has been hiding that all season with plans to unleash it in the post season. Especially since we didn’t know how successful ETN would be with pass catching at the beginning of the year.

I am different than a lot of Clemson fans in that I don't really care for the Jumbo Package because I think we have seen it fail more than succeed in times of need.
It has been wildly successful when we are blowing somebody out and don't really need it though.
I also think you need veteran defenders to bring in to make it be reliable. It wasn't overly successful when Wilkins and Lawrence were young. They got better after running it for 2 or 3 years. It didn't work with a young XT. It didn't work earlier this year with Bresee and Pinckney. Defensive guys aren't used to having to be still presnap and we've gotten a ton of procedure penalties and we've had a few fumbles as well.
You are also more optimistic than I am about wrinkles being held and used for the upcoming game.
I feel like Clemson fans say that over and over again every year only to see very little change.
I certainly hope you are correct though and Elliott has been holding onto something that will be very successful in the remaining games of the season.

I do think that this is just another example of just how special the Power Rangers really were. With that said I thought that the Personnel grouping this year not really the right way to go but I think it was more because of XT still not being ready to go. If I'm not mistaken he actually played running back in high school so he does have experience as a ball carrier. I think last year the one time they really tried it he was just a bit too excited and made mistakes. Personally if that really isn't a great option to have him as a ball carrier I still like the thought of pulling tight ends and just using extra lineman for a Old Washington Redskins type jumbo set. In fact this may sound like blasphemy but I might even use mellusi as the back as he has shown pretty good short yardage ability and it would save Travis an extra hit or two.

Maybe I missed one but the time I remember using it this year was on the goal line against BC.
Bresee and Pinckney were supposed to be the "Jumbo" and ETN was set the get the ball.
We fumbled (which had nothing to do with the blockers) and BC ran it back for a TD.
On the play it looked like Pinckney was supposed to go in motion but didn't, then he tried to cut across the handoff area to get to his block. Playside blockers were blown up which create the easy scoop by the BC defense.
I don't remember XT being used in the Jumbo package this season.

You're exactly right. Too many miscues when we run Jumbo, and not just this year.

Because my son and I rewatched the 2011 ACC Championship the other night. We incorporated a lot of jet sweep during the game. Ran a lot of counters behind it. I mentioned somewhere on here the other day about using Travis like USC used to use Reggie Bush. Lots of eye candy but also a lot of possibilities that the defense has to account for. I like your suggestion.

Morris definitely loved motion and used a ton of it!
The JET motion and orbit motion were probably his favorites.
The JET motion to WR worked more back then because we gave the ball to Sammy and one or two others on those speed plays so often.
It was also a nice combo with the fact that we had 3 or 4 WRs who could beat the other team deep on any play. We don't have the same deep threats in this offense (and haven't since then) to counteract the safeties running up on the JET sweeps like we used to.
I somewhat agree with what you are saying about Bush. I do feel USC used him as a decoy too much and it cost him touches, but I also think ETN is that much of a focal point that it would open up a ton for other people in the same way that moving Bush did.

is not the game plan I'd implement.
Incorporate a lot of motion and misdirection to keep the defense honest and on their toes.

first string players in when we're up by at least 28 in the 4th quarter and try to increase the lead until the clock hits all 0's. But that won't happen, and we will see Hunter Helms for the entire 4th quarter with a lot of run plays.

A common phrase used after comments like this is "I'll have some of what you're smoking".
In this case, I would not like some of what you are smoking because it appears to have taken you a little far over the edge.
Best of luck!

Dang click bait subject!
I was thinking the “1 thing I would like to see in ACC title game but won't” is me & the 22 other friends & relatives I bought tickets for in September!! Bought tickets the last five years before the season starts knowing it was a gamble that Clemson would make the ACCCG. Paid off every year until 2020.
Guess who received their ACCCG tickets refund email this morning. Why does it take 30 nanoseconds to debit my credit card for the tickets but 30 DAYS to put the interest free loan back on the card?
Barnum was right!
Go Tigers!
