Our top ten recruits ever. Not for what that did once

Posted: Jan 27, 2019, 5:54 PM

they got to Clemson, but how they were seen/ranked nationally out of high school. A lot of our older players were heavily recruited in the south but did not have national powerhouse offers like Michigan, Penn St, Ohio State, Texas, Notre Dame, etc.. i’m thinking of the Steve Fuller type guys.

My first guess is :

Trevor - Nimber one QB in the nation
Deshawn - Ditto above
Roscoe Crosby
Dexter - I think he and Gray were the top two DL.Their senior years
John Johnson out of Georgia. Not sure if he was a national recruit
Mitch Hyatt

Help me.

According to this list, NINE players ranked more highly than Deshaun Watson as a recruit will be suiting up for the 2019 Clemson Tigers.

Great list, but keep in mind that list says "since 2000" in the fine print sub-heading. The OP asked about the top ten of all time. That would be a tough list to put together.

thank you, great info, recall them all but Ken Page escapes my memory, also interesting back then Ty Zimmerman a 3*, 2 overall, position 1; also would have thought D. Hamilton would have made the list, vaguely remember him rated a 4* by Rivals

Now that’s a solid share, thanks***

I would imagine Mike Bellamy should be somewhere on the list.
