Well he did say he felt like a “red-headed stepchild” at clemson, and said that his family had to eat ramen while he was here. And then said college was a Ponzi scheme even for non athletes.
So I don’t know how that would go over. Nuk was a great player though and still is!

Nuk and some of his Clemson teammates, every year in July, sponsor an event to give free school supplies to children in Clemson.

Yes, he did say those things. Shouldn't be judged only on those comments. There is lot that can be admired and respected about him.

You're wrong. People want to always brush aside the negative comments for the good deeds. He said what he said about Clemson so no we don't need him in clemson

Nuk's criticism about one aspect of his experience (and I look at his criticism as that of the NCAA not Clemson), does not make him less of a Clemson man.

except it wasn't just one aspect of his experience and his comments were solely based on his experience at Clemson. nothing to do with the ncaa. he's butthurt that Sammy got more attention supposedly. Nevermind the fact that the entire stadium yelled nuuuuuuuuuukk EVERY TIME you touched the freakin football. He is a spoiled #####

Nuk offended many of us. I didn't lash out about his comments, poor attitude or ungrateful disposition because he's young and because he is family.
Many families have members who misbehave. Nuk didn't rape anyone or kill someone while driving drunk. He didn't get busted with a kilo of heroin or truck load of pot and he didn't rob a bank. In the grand spectrum of things an NFL player can do to embarrasses or shame his college home Nuk's infraction was slight.
If he's guilty of an infraction it amounts to no more than a negative and attitude toward Clemson with a bit of embarrassment. So he offended some of us?
Guessing from the tweet, Nuk is trying to straighten some of this out. He said he was woke. That suggest that he had missed something due to an oversight. He said he's all in. It appears he's had a change of heart. I hope you have a change of heart too.

Or Sammy, maybe. I'm guessing he got more $100-bill handshakes, etc at Clemson than Nuk ever did. Sammy certainly got more publicity and attention, and a higher draft position, despite the fact that Nuk was consistently excellent in his time at CU and has been much more successful in the NFL as well.

the program going so talk of making money is ridiculous. Also giving the profit to athletes was not allowed by the NCAA so not sure where you are headed.

I was lucky if I got to eat ramen once a day. At that point in life I was happy just to have something to eat. I’m not complaining and I wouldn’t change my experiences for the world. It formed me into the man I am today

When it comes to Nuk there is a lot of good to see. Anyway he's entitled to his opinions but what he said would've held true pretty much wherever he played.

IMHO the single most-important win in Dabo's tenure wasn't the national title game or any of his ACC titles but the 2012 Chick-Fil-A Bowl win he got against what was then a still nationally-relevant LSU team.
We'd gotten crushed in 2011 by West Virginia and there were some serious question marks at that point about the future of the program...and we just hadn't beaten a superpower since probably a (fading) #6-ranked Tennessee program all the way back in 2003, which Bowden was never able to build on.
We needed to prove we were relevant...and we got that signature win against LSU...and Nuk was by far the engine that drove that win. Tajh played brilliantly, but Nuk played maybe the most dominant game I've ever seen by a Clemson WR, and that's saying something considering some of the stuff we've seen guys like D-Ham, Sammy Watkins, and Mike Williams do over the years. Thirteen catches, 191 yards, and 2 TD's...despite the fact that Watkins was injured on the game's first play and LSU knew we were force-feeding Nuk. They still couldn't stop him.
But that was it, IMHO. Dabo's "turning point" win, the moment Clemson declared itself one of the Powers of College Football. And Nuk was nothing short of sensational.
If he feels overshadowed...he shouldn't, IMHO. I remember. I'm confident tens of thousands of other Clemson fans remember. And I'm utterly confident Dabo remembers. If Nuk feels slighted, something tells me Dabo won't let that continue unaddressed because it's hard to imagine anyone close to Clemson forgetting anytime soon. Especially Dabo.

I also feel like a lot of his frustrations stem from they corruption in college football as a whole, seeing the billions made while amateur athletes don’t have a structured way to receive a fair share of those earnings.
This of course can be debated many ways, so don’t get hung up on that point.
What I’m saying is, the more I’ve thought about it, the more I try not to take his comments as a personal shot towards Clemson, but as an overall frustration with the system.
I appreciate Nuk He’ll always be a Tiger.

Nuk has always been All In. Some of the comments in this thread bottle my mind. He is often seen and photographed wearing Clemson gear. He tweets pro-Clemson stuff all the time, attends games when he can and associates with other former Clemson players.

Clearly you don't understand! Yes Nuk went to Clemson. Yes he played a massive role in making Clemson a better football program. Yes he may be the best receiver in program history and may go on to be the best NFL player in program history...but he also said a couple of things that some people don't agree with, so certainly he should be banished forever!

It'll be hard to surpass Brian Dawkins in that regard, but Nuk does have the talent if he stays healthy. Best hands in the League.

Exactly. A lot of folks want to judge him based on 2-3 comments he made without considering the entire man and his background. It seems very childish to me.

Y’all act like Nuk said he hated Clemson. He stated what he felt about being the 2nd receiver and college in general. He still comes to Clemson for events every year. He was just on the sideline for the Sugar Bowl. He’s very involved with Clemson and the community. Great guy, great player, and a great tiger. Everyone who’s feelings where hurt over his comments need to go find your safe place.
