It was released in 1971, I believe as a TV movie. Directed by Steven Spielberg, but without a lot of fanfare. Great movie if you can find it!

Don't know how popular it was/is, but "The Wind and the Lion". with three of my favorite actors Sean Connery, Candice Bergen, and Brian Keith as a butt kicking Teddy Roosevelt. Sorta, kinda based on a true story.

The previews ruined Hot Fuzz for me since most of what they showed happened after a supposed big moment in the movie, so you knew it did not happen like you were supposed to think it did. (I hope that made sense).

Wasn't popular, wasn't really promoted by the studio (Columbia Pictures), but Bill insisted they film the Razor's Edge before he would do Ghostbusters.

It was a thoughtful space movie that was a darker antithesis to the more fantastical interstellar or gravity.
Also since doing twilight, Robert Pattinson has become a very good actor. Three great roles High Life, Good Time and The Rover.

I could make a long list here, but one the stands out is SPACED INVADERS. Comedy of errors with crashed aliens trying to get off Earth with help from some kids on Halloween night. Very funny movie from 1990.

It is a very underated movie, and as a bonus it included the guys from the Sonic commercials.

"They Live" and "Big Trouble in little china" come to mind.

Both the Steve McQueen version and Pierce Brosnan version were very good.

THX 1138, George Lucas's big screen debut about a future dystopian society. When the protagonist's "watcher" asks him what's wrong and if he's taken his medicine it'll make your skin crawl.
Logan's Run with Michael York and some hot Australian chick. In another future society, no one is allowed to live past 30 unless you win a game that, literally, no one ever wins.

Funny you mentioned this one: I have it on my book stand by the front door.
In mid-March a friend told me this Corona thing reminded him of the apocalyptic 'nobody-lives-past-30' genre of movies. He told me about Logan's Run, so I got it from the local library. Then the library closed. By the time our Augusta library reopens on June 1, I'll have had that movie over 10 weeks.
And yes, Jenny Agutter is a babe. Funny though, because Farrah Fawcett received higher billing for a very brief and bland role.

I apologize for taking so long to get back to you to you. I honestly didn't expect anyone to respond.
I haven't watched it in probably 30 years but I still remember well, the reaction of the crowd in the city center, when Logan and his girlfriend announce to them that they won't die if they don't play the game. It does remind me of this Corona thing.

But I've been a place or two (Indy, maybe) that ran it regularly midnight Saturdays, alternating with movies like Rocky Horror and the dubbed version of Mad Max.
And all the Ilsa movies.

Cross of Iron. My favorite war movie. James Coburn was really too old to play Steiner, but he made it work.
