I'm happy just watching - put on some music
just have 4 good cameramen and the replay
they created their own importance - no need - overpaid

I think BROKE might be the operative term.... We may be witnessing a "correction" in the media industry, and I just hope an intelligent producer is paying attention, re: broadcast format, content, advertising, and the number of employees necessary to actually do the job.
Go Tigers!!!

Doesn't bother me in the least. Of course I only watch ESPN for football games I am interested in. The rest is dead weight if you ask me

ESPN and ACCN are already down to accepting Spurdle and Alien Tape TV ads to get money. I'm sure they are not paying what the ads were bringing last year. When this is over, the ACC schools may get $6.49 per team after the money is divided this year.
Just watch the differences in the ACC and SEC TV ads.

Two primary reasons.
1. COVID
2. There transition to being a network that uses sports as an excuse to talk about their corporate political agenda.
And, I think 2 is the primary reason.

I'm not saying those things aren't factors, but technology is the largest factor IMO.
Several years ago if you wanted to know the score of a particular game you either had to wait to see it in the newspaper the next morning, or you watched Sportscenter and waited for them to show the highlights and score.
All you need to do today is pull out your phone and look at the score. You can also pretty easily find highlights from your phone as well. This can also include there being a game on the television that a person is interested in knowing the score of, but doesn't care to actually watch the game. Not very long ago that person would need to flip the channel over to that game in order to get updated on the score. Today a person can continue watching Netflix or whatever while they monitor those scores from their phone.
If a person wants to read an analyst breakdown an upcoming game they can easily find somewhere online to read all about it which only reduces the need to sit around and wait for television analysts to bring up that particular game.
That's not even to mention how technology allows for easier editing, working cameras, etc...
