Kelly B picked Mizzou because of their schedule

@ Wyoming WVU Southeast Missouri SCar Troy Ole Miss @ Vandy @ Kentucky @ UGA Florida Tenn @ Ark
Not exactly murders row. He stays in a major conference (SEC "LEast") for exposure purposes, Kentucky likely takes a step back next year, and West Virginia plays no defense. The only tough games on the schedule are really UGA and Florida and you never really know if Florida will be any good from year to year anymore. If they promised him the starting spot, that was probably a pretty intelligent decision. I just wonder if he's prepared for life where he isn't surrounded by superior talent at the skill positions as well as the support of a great defense to bail him out when he's struggling like he had with us.

I think he wanted to be promised the starting job at the best school possible.
Arkansas is the Carolina dumpster fire of the west
And auburn has Bo Nix coming in next year.

I hope his leaving works as well for him as it has Clemson.

Really Mizzou was the only decision

He wanted no part of the SEC West so that knocks out Auburn and Ark. UNC had been an option, but they just fired their coach. Ole school Mack Brown certainly wasn't going to give him a guarantee that he'd start. Mizzou was pretty much his only choice.

He did make a good choice and schedule does look favourable, but let's not totally discount what he has to face.
@ Wyoming - Win WVU - Loss Southeast Missouri - Win SCar - Win Troy - Loss Ole Miss - Loss @ Vandy - Win @ Kentucky - Toss up @ UGA - Loss Florida - Loss Tenn - Toss up @ Ark - Win
Missouri isn't a great team either with lots of issues. And WVU, Troy, and Ole Miss are decent football teams. I wouldn't discount them.

Kelly's not concerned about wins and losses

They may lose to to WVU and Ole Miss, but those teams play no defense so he has a chance individually to shine. There are a ton of games on the schedule where he can showcase himself offensively. That's what he's about right now. It ain't necessarily about winning with him anymore.

Exactly. If he wanted to win, he would have stayed. It's clear that this decision started an ended with how to best promote himself. I'll make no judgment on the merits of where he's coming from, just that it's clear where his motivations lie.

If Neal Brown is gone, Troy won't be a tough game.

Ole Miss was a 5-7 team this year and they'll be traveling on the 2 weeks after going to Alabama.
WVU losses just about everything this year and will start the year with a very challenging game against JMU. (Early Upset Alert)
They play UGA a week after the Cocktail Party. That certainly helps.
This could be one of the easiest P5 schedules in the country. I'd conservatively say Mizzou wins 8 games next year and this that 10 wins is more likely than 7.

With OUR team, that would be 12-0, 11-1 at worst. With MISSOURI's team, I forsee 8-4 to a ceiling of 10-2 at absolute best. Losses to Dawgs, Gators, and probably a couple other slip ups along the way. Happy for him that he gets one last shot at some Coots. They still taste like chicken, even for strange Tigers.

Thank God this crap is over. It’ll be nice to read articles on Tigernet about the players that haven’t quit on this/their team and brothers!
