Found this little fellow in our flower bed this morning. He’s a little upset at my 2 year old for trying to pick him up, lol, but he’s completely harmless.

That is not a juvenile rat snake.
It's one of them pygmy rat snakes.

I would not generally classify this rat snake as juvenile since it appears to be at least a year old. I would classify it as precociously pubescent but physically immature. That’s why it appears to be a bit moody despite its physical inability to hurt anyone. Cute little thing!

That is actually a yellow tailed groundhog viper. They are harmless to humans though.
