Jimmy Johnson at UM - Old School Motivator & Psycho

Johnson had a lot of Danny Ford tough guy in him. And no team was more violent or harder hitting than the UM Convicts of the 1980's. As a defensive fan, I enjoyed it and pulled for the Convicts over the Catholics, but I appreciate that brand of violent and ruthless Defense is not for everyone.

Fan or not, Johnson was a motivator and true believer who could get his point across -- just like Dabo and BV can with today's 21st century college players. They have authenticity that rings true because our Clemson coaches respect the game and are comfortable in their own skin.

For pre-game entertainment, check out Jimmy Johnson brilliantly lecturing an 80's Cane team on the importance of being in good shape. Man oh man, the Canes are 30 years and 30 galaxies away from where they were ... And BV is the new standard. Enjoy the video and go Tigers!
