Interesting fan mindset for this season...

I'll be honest. I sweat pretty much every Clemson game, knowing the team's history. I was a student from 2002-2006. I can vividly remember losing to Duke 16-13 in 2004, dropping that game to WF 31-27 in 2005 and losing to UMD in 2007. Remember when we lost to UMD in 2009 when they were 2-10 on the year. Ugh. Obviously, I can point to a plethora of other examples of these types of losses but you get the drift. It's how we earned the term "Pulling a Clemson" after all.

Well, after the UGA game Coach Swinney was asked what he thought about avoiding that let down game. Coach told us (the fans), strait up, this is not that program any more. This Clemson team does not have that losing mentality anymore. He pretty much dismissed the notion as preposterous. Well, I'm taking him on his word. I don't fear NC St after watching their game vs Richmond. They are clearly rebuilding. I think we are going to destroy them like we should. Dabo told me not to worry, so I'm not.

On ESPN they are touting Chad Morris and a top HC candidate (right up there with Kirby Smart from 'Bama). Who is just after those two? None other than our defensive coordinator Brent Venables. That says something about this staff that Dabo has assembled. Never before have I felt so strongly that we have a competent coaching staff that really knows their stuff.

After watching SCAR vs UGA, I really believe we have a special unit at DL. These guys are good and they will be critical to having a better year on defense than we've had in recent years. The LB core is underwhelming, but capable. Secondary needs to get better, but that was expected.

TL/DR: I fully expect to beat every team on our schedule outside of FSU and SCAR. Dabo told me I can.

beating either one of those two teams, but they are both going to tough outs. Honestly I'm not sure what to make of FSU yet..I think we need to see more from them. After watching SCAR vs UGA I think we know what we are getting from them. They have two really good lines and a very capable offense. It's going to be tough to take them out @ the roach. No doubt we have the skill and talent necessary, just need to execute.
