Swore to themselves they'd make it to Tampa the following year and finish business.
Which they did.

As Dabo says, “Don’t let defeat define you but rather let it develop you.”
After the loss to WV in the Orange Bowl, Dabo goes out and hires BV! While it hurt badly, that defeat was the best thing that coulda happened! It challenged Dabo and the program!

"Best" in terms of what?

That game was horrific. I guess you are talking about "best" in terms of a catalyst, but I have a hard time calling that our "best" loss. You have the benefit of hindsight now. Was it "best" as it happened?

I agree that loss may have been the best thing that could have happened to us. Without it we may have never gotten BV. Another of my favorites was the loss to Pitt during our National Championship run. We lost that game because of a few horrible officiating calls made by a former gamecock referee who, prior to the game, Dabo had complained about due to his obvious bias when calling Clemson games. After that game we started steamrolling everyone we faced. I like to think the gamecock's were partly responsible for that national title. Thanks Duane Heydt!!! They should have let him dance in the locker room after the win

That would have to be right up there with the most soul crushing. Losing 16-13 in Tally in 2010 when we "should" have won was a downer as well.

Lost the game and only moved down one spot in rankings? We’re still in it!
