Ever a justification to fire a first year coach?

Nov 5, 2019, 11:42 AM

Outside of scandal?

Yes I can think of one. Good ole Ellis Johnson who took a perennial bowl program in Southern Miss and made them a horrid 0-12 in one year, causing a several season rebuild there.

Just goes to show that the chicken curse extends to other programs as well

Mike Price didn't even get into the door.

George O'Leary stepped into a similar pile.

Per Mike Price when the heaux said "Roll Tide", he replied "It's rolling baby". End of job.

Hated that for Ellis, he's a good dude, and a good DC.

Known him and his wife(Clemson Grad) for a while.

"No one knew we were overhyped until the season started." - Classof09

Ellis is not married anymore. Lives at Debordieu Beach.

If he's living at Debordieu and divorced

Heck the coots will keep an 0-11 coach in their first year so anything is possible.

Whomever NC State hires. Sure their current pattern is to basically hire the same guys, go the same 20ish wins and 30ish loss after 6/7 seasons. I mean, look at their last 5 coaches and they are all about identical tenures.

The Jets may be forced to fire Adam Gase after one season. He is a flaming disaster nobody has any respect for. Gotta get him away from Sam Darnold asap.

Why would a team hire a coach right after he was fired by one of the most pathetic organizations in the NFL?

Didn’t Taggart quit a job after only one year?

Nov 5, 2019, 6:54 PM

IMHO in coaching, getting fired or quitting after one year is wrong.
