at the end of the season who, your opinion, would become the new Defensive Coordinator at Clemson?

Not even gonna contemplate that. BV isn't going anywhere for 3 years at minimum, HC money, no headaches that come with the position and complete control of the defense. He has the best of both worlds and his family is happy, that means more than the title of HC.

I think we'd make a strong play for Marion Hobby.

Who listened to the Clemson Dubcast from July 2019 with BV? That was a little over a year ago but I am not sure BV has a desire to be a head coach. There are all the benefits he is currently getting at Clemson and his relationship with Dabo. After listening to him speak I would be surprised if he left before Dabo retires.

but you're basically asking what will we do when the wheels come off our long-standing coaching core and jeopardizes our continued success. Negative Nancy over here.
I'll discuss that IF it comes up but HAIL NAW to before!

Now understand, you don't need to be at the very top to have a great career and not be slammed by the Peter Principle. Very frankly, the role of HC at a major CFB program requires very different skills than a top OC/DC.
BV has it all and if we needed to pay him another $1M to keep him, you can bet your bippy it would get done.
