Hypothetically speaking, if you needed to rent a house in

the Charleston area for a year, and do it pretty quickly, where would you look? Obviously, craigslist will have some stuff listed, but I hate the fact that there's no filter or sanity checks on CL, and there's a lot of garbage to wade thru. Anybody know of any more professional listing sites akin to MLS or the like?

a house turned out to be scams. One of them fairly clever, and was hard to identify until they refused to meet me or set up an appointment to look at the house. I've bought and sold stuff on craiglist in the past, but my recent experiences with it aren't so good.

I used Craig's List once and got a great place on Harborview

Rd in James Island. Just do your research and schedule a visit for each place on the same day that you'll be coming down to visit CHS. You can get great deals on Craig's List.
I've also sold a lot of stuff on there for good money, from Clothes washers to refrigerators.
