I don't see it happening.

I know it's hitting my little part of the world right now pretty hard. Cases are going up fast.
We've already heard from some local admins that a shut down will NOT happen.
Now nationally/state, I have no idea. Highly doubt it though.

I do think most states will end up having to bring back some of the restrictions we saw in the spring.

1. When Joe takes over, he will pay attention to the numbers and follow the lead of the scientists.
2. If everyone would wear a mask and socially distance voluntarily, there would be no need for a mandate and we could limit restrictions by region (based on the numbers) and by circumstances (possibility of spread).

We CAN strike a balance between our health and the economy if we are smart about this.

that Trump actually followed the science, but his response was and is more holistic. The cure cannot be worse than the virus.

Good lord dude, everyone listens to the medical professionals. But there's a helluva lot more to consider than just one aspect.

I dont think the virus ends on the 4th, I do however think the tone from most media changes from doom and gloom to positivity.
Just my opinion.

You do realize the governors control the shutdowns, right?

As for restrictions on public/social activities, business restrictions, social distancing, masks, etc., we have been doing that for 8 months. Has it eliminated covid?
Biden’s plan (yes, he has a plan) is basically everything that has been done - it will just be him running it as president, but mostly delegating decisions to a panel. So that will just be more of the same; although now the media will change the narrative to an all positive slant.

I’ll agree that Trump’s style is hands on. I’ll also concede he is not the typical politician in his speech or actions. However, he did listen to - and accepted the decisions and guidance of - his commission/panel of experts (which included Drs Fauci and Birks). After 5-6 months of that, which included numerous revelations, changes in policy, contradictions - and most of all questionable results even with massive economic and personal harm to America and Americans - is when he took a more active (unilateral?) role in decisions. And if he does not like, agree or trust you, he will say it.
When you factor in the fact that the dems - with the complicit press - spent the entire pandemic criticizing and resisting any of the measures he proposed/enacted, might have something to do with his anger and harsh comments. By the way, establishing a panel of experts, restricting travel; War Powers Act to manufacture PPE to name a couple, are parts of Biden’s ‘new’ plan.
The military has a saying: “It’s called Leadership. Not ‘Likership’ “. ( because you can’t please everyone). Trump is the President - and the leader of the nation - so he is the final decision maker.
It remains to be seen, but we’ll know soon, if more people agreed with him, than not.

based on location.
Public / consumer behavior is not solely dependent on government actions. Perceived safety and confidence will drive activities.

Nothing any different than the Trump administration has done. Well, except to say "we follow science."
Won't be any national shutdowns.

of the increase in cases is in younger people who will (mostly) be OK.
Plus - NYC is where the national media is - and NYC isn't struggling now like it was in March/April. So - there is slightly less angst about it being broadcast now...
