When the Clemson band plays "Hold that tiger! Hold that tiger ! Hold that tiger!" it's a challenge we're making saying "Just try to." It's not an open invitation for the other teams to hold our guys without throwing a flag. Just thought I would clarify. Thank you very much.
In the Ron Cherry days I used to have to frequently post this notice but always after the fact. This one is just preemptive.
But even the ref's know that the only way the other team can stay on the field is to "hold that tiger".That's why you see the call ever so often, like when Clemson is starting a drive deep in their own territory,or getting it called when it's 1st and goal at the opponents 9 yard line.
