Improvement in on-field performance should follow an improvement in recruiting.
We made steps in the right direction for OL recruiting in the '20 and '21 classes.
Hopefully in '21 and '22 we will begin to see the on-field results make a steady improvement as well.

Online perception is the position that need adjustment the most. Be thankful otherwise we could slide back down to the 7-5 also rans of the ACC.
All position groups vary from year to year.
I would say that the D Line has been a bigger issue realistically. But then again, what are we comparing the current DL/DE to, 2017/2018? Unfair. It was a down year for the Dline, a horrible health year for our WR, the OL didn't gel to win us a national title title, etc.... but we dominated the ACC and put ourselves into position for another run. Didn't happen but hey, success still. We caught a glimpse of what the 2022 National Champs can do with 9 days notice. Look on the upside.
OL was built for a post ETN scheme with a 3rd year TL. It didn't stick well in the covid year... but still, we were #3... not #3 in the "atlantic" like most of the Tommy years.
The funny thing, our TL offense NEVER won an offensive shootout. 0-2 when our D was off-balanced. Unbeaten otherwise over 42 games (discounting the ND game in Nov).

The "never won a shootout" is an interesting footnote in Trevor's legacy at Clemson.
I'm not sure that you could find anyone in football that could explain to you that Clemson offense under Trevor averaged some of the highest numbers in Clemson history, but never hit the high numbers at the same time as the opposing offense.
I guess the only argument is that it happened against the two most talented teams we played during his time, but then when you remember he put up tons of points against '18 Bama but Bama didn't didn't hold up their end of the shootout it becomes a puzzle again.
I think there is a huge argument to be made that the '18 Bama defense was just as good as the '19 LSU defense and better than the '20 OSU defense especially against the pass.
Truly a puzzling footnote on his career.

2018 Usuck comes to mind, that's the only offensive shootout Trevor did.

That wasn't a shootout.
We were up 28 in the 3rd quarter.
It was not a competitive game after the 1st quarter.

Stop with the self-imposed probation. Watson in 16 and an incredible defense in 18 were able to overcome it.

Our Offensive line will be fine, we are young. We have the best recruiting talent on Offensive line we’ve ever had right now. They missed being fed & workouts last summer. We are fine.

Probably shouldn’t draw any conclusions from 2020. But

IMO since it was requested, the secondary seemed “off” this year _ both Safeties and Corners.
Safety’s PBU’s were lacking on big plays. Corners and safeties missed a lot of tackles.
Youth (experience), injures, practice time etc. likely played a role. Normal spring and fall practice will probably resolve issues. Tough physical practices are on the horizon. I think some of the higher Star recruits will better understand the work required to transform their potential into greatness.
Dabo and the entire coaching staff will have a sharper edge.
